Sammot

Well it's the first time he actually lost someone he remotely actually cares about right in front of his face.

To be fair, she is completely right. Her standards are completely reasonable considering Shen's capabilities, especially since he has the instincts from his path to guide his actions. He is deliberately interrupting his own instincts to delay action against an opponent he already knows is stronger and faster. It actually feels out of character for Shen. I don't remember him being so vulnerable to poor judgement when angry. Now he has made some bad choices while ignorant, but he seems very aware right now and is still making choices that seem nonsensical.

It's quite the whiplash going from Shens pov where it seems like he's on top of the world then going to Liya where he seems like a fool. The 0.04 seconds made me go aha, her standards are just so much higher than anything he'd even be able to perceive previously. It'll be fun to see how Shens adjusted by the end of this, particularly personality wise

Zaim İpek

In a peaceful world where Shen might have the option to become an engineer or maybe a novelist, Liya would be an evil and heartless villain, a ruthless psychopath. But in this multiverse threatened with constant violence, destruction, deception, and scheming, she is the true hero of this story. She is the apocalypse equivalent of Cinderella's Fairy Godmother or Gandalf that make the protagonist's journey possible. She is the blue fairy giving Pinocchio life. It's so fun to read.
