i do love DC for the museums bc i have an anthropology degree HOWEVER the native american museum kinda.... wasn't what it needed to be, bc there was a ton of missing information and it would honestly leave someone that doesn't have as much knowledge about the history of native americans with the impression that everything's far better in the present for indigenous people than it actually is. at the end of the day, the museum is curated and funded by the state so they get to pick and choose what histories they want to tell. no mention of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women from what I can remember which felt CRAZY to me. the natural history museum is really cool though, and so is the African American one! my partner and I spent like 6 hrs in there
