Alex is pronouncing it correctly and yes Kay, pacific as in the Pacific Ocean. The ocean got its name after how turbulent and unnavigable it is due to its weather, thus being named (ironically) the peaceful ocean. Seamen thought they cooked I guess.

I used to work for a historic trails organization and I remember my boss telling me that the Mormon church loves to buy land that has historic value in America (like along the Oregon trail etc) and in my opinion I think it’s cuz they want to make sure that Mormon history is included in education about American history.

re: sports medicine and exercise, while a lot of it is more about money and things are inconclusive about diet —studies have been done and show exercise is the best way to prevent cognitive decline (which is OBVIOUSLY so different from all the shit about protein bars and muscles and raw meat) Tbh i think it’s more sports gurus than sports medicine doctors. and fat phobic people
