6 - Day Supercell Forecast & Productivity Report
🕑 Added 2024-06-14 18:03:16 +0000 UTCHappy Friday Patrons,
For the last several days I’ve been drooling over chase potential tomorrow in Nebraska, however guidance has rained on that parade. The HRRR, the NAM and the SPC are saying “scattered unorganized storms but a supercell cannot be ruled out.” Hardly a Pilger Twins outlook near their 10 year anniversary,
Regardless, there’s a lot of uncertainty and Saturday could turn for the better (or worse for locals). Here’s my Nam Nest mesoanalysis followed by the HRRR…

At least the target area is in agreement and chasers should get storms.
SUNDAY THE 16th
Guidance is currently hinting at storms in NW Kansas and possibly later in southern Nebraska. Tornadic outlook confidence currently low.

MONDAY THE 17th
Big CAPE beneath weak shear and hot cap. Tornadic outlook low.

TUESDAY THE 18th
Cold front storms with high probabilities of linear modes. Tornadic outlook low.

WEDNESDAY THE 19th
Big storms displaced from shear. Tornado confidence very low.

PRODUCTIVITY REPORT
During my break from chasing I’ve been riding a creativity wave. My next storm video is 90% complete. Ive been super inspired to work on some artsy-fartsy nature video scripts and writing music. I have 2 new singles ready for release and super pumped about that. All they need is cover art. Here are a couple passes for “Give Us Strength.” Not terrible, but not great. I think the white background is bugging me and perhaps it’s too busy.

I’ll let you know if and when I depart.
Good luck grinding, marginal day chasers. Surely one of these days will surprise you with a pretty tube.

Hi 👋 Hank love your thinking and planning. Mother nature has a mind of her own and is a little confused. Hope to see you out there. Stay safe mate and happy travels . Say 👋 to Dan if you 👀 him.

The first pass of the cover is VERY reminiscent of Genesis' "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway." Which of course means I love it and Felix will too. As for chasing, it could be worse. You could have a rare tornado outbreak in your backyard, with a beautiful multivortex twister hitting your old neighborhood and another visible from your current one, while you are in another state taking care of a family member who had surgery that day. That was last Wrdnesday for me, and I am still not over it.

Hopefully we have some luck

I’m heading north as soon as I’m off work in about 3 hours. SPC updated the outlook to a 5% for tornadoes so hopefully there’s something over an open field somewhere!

Thanks! Lots of head scratching and pondering. But no matter what a casual drive is always what the doc orders for me.

Heading north for tomorrow’s target. Why not.

Like the cover art, but agree that the white background bugs me some. Not to busy to me, maybe replace the white with a light, light gray. I kind of like the larger pixel version (bigger dots).

Excited for some new music! Good luck if you get out there!

Chasing the goop in Colorado today and maybe Nebraska tomorrow. We’ll see what happens.

In total agreement Lianne. I don't mind my name being unreadable as its a brand. The blue 60s cut boxes look a little too fun, but maybe I'll move the color halftone blue to the rectangles? And perhaps I should blast out the skyline with color halftone as well. Just not jiving with the song.

Still on the fence, but thinking I might. Like Jonny said above. These June days tend to improve the morning of.

Hey Hank, I'm a graphic designer and can't help myself, so if this crit is unwelcome, JUST IGNORE ME~. I like the one with the blue photos a bit better. Complimentary colors and all. Your name is a bit hard to read in places with the white text and the white background, perhaps that's what's bugging you? I do like the city part, but I'm thinking the perceived busy background might come from the buildings being so much smaller and more detailed compared to your photos/big shapes. Just keep experimenting, though, I'm sure you'll be happy eventually. Or you'll give up and settle! Just like all the great artists. :P

Best of luck! Are you planning on going to that Nebraska day anyways?
