Sneak Peek: U.S. Armored Brigade Combat Team 2028 Objective TOE
🕑 Added 2025-07-10 23:49:32 +0000 UTCI'm working on a video on some experimentation 3rd Infantry Division is going to be doing with their ABCTs (mainly creating a brigade Multi-Effects Company). However, their experiment has to be zero growth so they are going to be repurposing existing platoons to make it happen. This is a still from a WIP animation showing the objective TOE for ABCTs in FY28 (not necessarily what all will be by then but what they plan as the baseline). 1/3ID's experimental structure then diverges from this slightly to make the MEC.
Some notable things here is the lack of a Brigade Engineer Battalion, because the combat engineering is in general planned to be centralized in supersized CEC-As under a divisional engineer battalion and the extra stuff that were in BEBs will probably go to different places. As well, this shows the Field Artillery Battalion in direct support of the brigade being organic to the Division Artillery, although its logistics FSC is organic to the ABCT's Brigade Support Battalion.
Dotted lines means its personnel counts are not included in the ABCT's baseline TOE.

First impression is it looks like 'old guard reverting to the their ways.' Have not fact checked anything so I might be assuming incorrectly. I'd like to see brigades fight as pure cavalry, tank, infantry, et cetera. Let the Division fight as a complete combined arms unit under a Corps. Just my opinion.

Combined arms armored units are my primary interest. I really look forward to the video.
