I just could not resist. Screw Nirari, I will play the immortal horror my own way. “Hahahaha! Die, mongrels!” I love it!!

Parry Henis

This chapter was amazing!

StarWolf

Next chapter? Or is he on vacation??

“Your kind shall be left behind!” *Gets shot in the face by a cutting edge rifle designed specifically for vampires while over relying on your magic based on a religion started in the bronze age* Who are the ones being left behind?

Mecanimus

Yes Enfield is the competitor. That’s why she doesn’t get the contract at the beginning.

Pretentious Slime

So still in earlier chapters but regarding civil war era rifles. The Enfield is a common yet sizeable upgrade to single shot rifles that were around a few decades before. Hickok on YouTube has a pretty great explanation behind the functionality of the rifle from the way the bullet is small enough to easily fit down the barrel yet expands to add built pressure when fired to the fact that they were loaded in paper like cartridges of black powder. Also adds credibility to the advancement in America’s war arsenal in your story enchantment or none enchantment. These rifles too btw fire bullet shaped rounds each above 50 caliber depending on barrel size. Horrendously lethal for the time. Also they some first rounds to be near or around the speed of sound if I’m correct. (Looked into it, Tests have found they can travel a bit faster then sound. Though this isn’t always consistent.)

Pretentious Slime

Correction, this or the 500 Linebaugh. The 450 would be traveling faster but the 500 is more stout and hits with more power. Both are massive rounds.

Pretentious Slime

Ok so I’m on earlier chapters catching up but i thought I’d mention that I perceive the big iron as a 450 BFR. Just look up the bullets for it and you will understand. No other revolver I can imagine relocating entire body parts of a vampire lol.

Mecanimus

I may have written that first and built the entire scene around it because I thought it was super cool.

SunderGoldmane

“Then you will die a wise man.” Be still my heart, I had to read that twice because it was so damn tasty.

Mecanimus

Damn I didn't think people would remember that exact scene.

Mecanimus

I have corrupted the people so much that you now have a vampire sense of humor

Pierre Steiner

Okay that had to be some of the best comedy this novel has ever had, that was hilariously unexpected and refreshing

Kyle Pemberton

Yeah I was curious if she knew Ariane's nature. It seemed like she didn't, but as a mage she should be able to sense from her aura. Then again she's untrained and might not be able to recognise the signs of a vampire.

Jon

I'm guessing the French commie witch is going to really want some instruction from Ariane after this.

Jack

I really appreciate the call back/reference to my favorite line in this story. When I first read it the story had progressed passed it so I couldn't mention it. But the line during the first battle of Black Harbor when Belinda dies "We will never be in the past, because we are, and will always be, you" is easily my favorite line in this novel. Seeing the same scene play out again in this chapter is a treat, and is a good reminder amidst the recent focus on swords and magic, Ariane is still a product of the current age.

🔥 🐷

Joel Bullock

I fucking loved the casual "and then I shot him in the face"

Bunny Waffles

There is cruelty and then there is warcrimes so unforgivable reality itself rejects them.

Andrew

Thank you!

Ruben

For a moment there i thought Ari was going to sing as terrifying distraction.
