Y’all are definitely wrong about Damon’s perspective. He was upset because Stefan let Elena die. He wanted her to have a human life and didn’t want her to become something she despised.

Her choice was made from guilt as well, where she was already with Stefan and the “right thing” to do was to stick with Stefan. Now she’s dead, her conscious decision can be exactly what she feels as she now has eternity and is even more so aware of what she feels. Thats why it’s now back to decision making again. There’s more to it
