Hassan Mohammed

i dont understand when we are supposed to use double integration

Jessica

I'm writing pure math 2 in may, which of the integration videos would apply for that paper?

Meray Zz

a life saver!!!!

maya shah

choose ur U based on this order ie. whichever comes first in ILATE is ur U

Eduardo Rodríguez

Can you explain this further? :D

Andrew Massey

Thank you

Intuitive

x^(1/2) * (1/x) = x^(-1/2), from exponent rules.

Andrew Massey

For question 2 on the worksheet, in the integral part these is a 1/x that disappears and I dont see why. Could you explain please.

Hamsavardan

Use ILATE (Integration, Log, Arithmetic, Trignometry, Exponential) it works 100 percent of the time

maya shah

to select your u in these questions use LIATEC: logarithms, inverse, algebra, trigonometric, exponentials, constant

godfather godfather

And TE actually can reverse their orders in ILATE, for combination of these two selecting whom as U doesn’t really matter.

Bhairav Ganguly

Yes got it. Thanks so much :)

Intuitive

Like you can’t have one side that has no limits of integration. Otherwise you’d get a number equals some stuff involving x’s, which makes no sense.

Intuitive

Oh alright because it’s a definite integral so you have to take the limits of everything :). So this is the formula for definite integral.

Bhairav Ganguly

Im asking why are you integrating the product of u and v because the equation in the formula sheet shows only uv and no integration sign

Intuitive

Well I’m not sure what you’re asking? What’s specifically are you not getting?

Bhairav Ganguly

Can you explain again I'm not understanding

Intuitive

I'm not I integrate x*cos(2x) which is u and dv/dx?

Bhairav Ganguly

in video. at time 15:47

Intuitive

In worksheet or video? I’ll look and get back to you :)

Bhairav Ganguly

why are you integrating the product of u and v in question 4?didnt understand that part

Kawthar

For deciding which part to take as ‘’U’’, you can use the order ILATE: I: inverse trigonometric identities L: Logarithmic expressions A: algebraic expressions T: trigonometric expressions E: exponential expressions The one that comes first is the one you take as “U”

Intuitive

Ensure you understand all the content on here and that’s already 80% of your exam.

Intuitive

I’ll will work on it all day tomorrow. But it won’t be finished for a few days. Like it takes a while to get these things done to the standard I want.

Sarah Azman

hi im so so so sorry if i come off as demanding but can i know when u plan on uploading for complex numbers bcs its my weakest topic and i cant seem to grasp it no matter how many times i relearnt it so ure kinda like my last hope rn huhu

ABU DANISH

The mechanics paper would be really helpful.

Intuitive

I don't know what that is. But I would be careful of using methods or shortcuts in mathematics. You should be able to answer everything in the exam just from the information in the formula sheet. However, if the method makes sense to you and is mathematically valid then use it. But I don't see why you can't just use the formula they give you.

Intuitive

After I finish P3 on here I will maybe do it. I like to do an exam at a time man :)

Razan Mafrachi

Hey Jacob , Thank you so much for these videos they are really sooo helpful . But also when will you do M1 ? I really need M1 videos if you can cuz literally the only thing i know in it is resolving forces cuz you did a video about it . I really wish you can do some videos about pulleys and power

Muhammed Imran

it is totally fine if you upload them on end of april because my exam is on 3rd of may. so i will just cram few days b4 the exam.

Intuitive

Awesome glad to hear

Intuitive

I’ll finish P3 first then after can do S2. But not possible in a week man haha

Jessica Zziwa

Thank you again for the video. Yes it is helpful going through all the steps even though it may seem repetitive/taxing. They help me a lot!

Raquel Dinis

I asked this too, but i think for now he is only going to do P3

Muhammed Imran

Hey jacob are you doing a exam hack series on s2 probability and statistics 2 ? because i m having my exams in one and half week . i really need help in s2 as well

Raffay Tabassum

how many videos of integration will you release and when?

Mohammed Mutaz

What do you think of using the tabular method . Will i get all my marks?

Intuitive

You want to use ways of calculating things that work for a large amount of problems. Not particular methods for specific cases. This way you never have to remember anything as you have a way to calculate all integrals of this form.

Intuitive

Guys you can use other methods if you want. But I’m here to teach you how I would do it. As someone who is very experienced in mathematics this is the way I would approach these questions. I’m not a teacher so I don’t know the huge range of methods they teach you. But trust me the way I do it even if it may seem harder is the method that makes the most mathematical sense.

Mohammed Mutaz

Intuitive

No I haven’t but I would recommend never using shortcut methods you don’t really understand in mathematics. However, if another method of calculation makes sense to you and you find it easier by all means use it.

Raquel Dinis

ohh okay, yea i guess ill have to learn

Iammadhanaraj

im lecture asked me to avoid using it in p3 , im not sure bro , we need this sir confirmation;)

Raquel Dinis

hello you use the integration formula to do these, have you ever heard of the DI method?
