Hi there, the work of question 7 in the worksheet has some problems. When integrating 1/2x+1, you seems forget to divide by 2. Btw could you upload the complex number worksheet today? It’s nearly the exam!

So, basically whenever you have number divided by anything to a power of 1 you will be using lnx. Eg. 1/x, 2/(x-1), 1/3x ... etc (because you cannot use the power rule to solve these due to division by zero)

Well try us the power rule to differentiate x^-1. You will have to divide by zero which is impossible. Thus is the reason for the formulation of lnx.
