🕑 Added 2024-06-03 08:59:13 +0000 UTCSutton June has officially begun!
Thank you all, for the amazing response to the first part of our new Special, 'The Sutton Hoo Ship: Rebuilding a Legend'.
We're now preparing for an exciting month of excavation at Sutton Hoo.
Daily Livestreams
From today, we're delighted to be transmitting daily livestreams from the site. These streams are an opportunity to share a snapshot of the action in real time as it unfolds, and will be in addition to the main coverage we are also capturing.
Over the month, you'll also be treated to weekly highlights from the dig, including live shows on Friday 7th and Thursday 27th June, as well as 3D models and Q&As with members of the team.
PLEASE NOTE:
Exact timings for all livestreams may vary slightly from the schedule. Please keep a look out for updates.
Some livestreams will be transmitted with audio commentary, while some may have vision only and no audio.
If you can't make it live, don't worry โ a replay will be available to watch at your leisure afterwards.
UPDATE: Today's stream will have no commentary
360-vision
This will be a 360-degree livestream, allowing you to rotate and explore the footage from every angle.
Open the video livestream to watch in YouTube, by clicking on the title link at the top of the video.
While watching the video on a computer click and drag using the mouse or tracker pad: up, down, left and right to get a full 360-degree view in real time! You can also zoom in or out.
Depending on your connection speed, you may need to adjust the video quality by clicking on the cog icon at the bottom of the YouTube window.
If using a phone or other mobile device, it should work by simply rotating the screen.

I hope you recover quickly, but I agree: it is so fun and something you can enjoy with your feet up!
Irene Daly
So exciting to see the digger in place, ready to unearth some wonderful finds.
Bethanny Allain
So glad I joined Time Team's Patreon last year. It will be lovely to follow along whilst recovering from a foot injury.
Bappi Kearley

Laura and Alex Tovey
I would love a live webcam!
Stephen hobbs
Shame it isn't active all through the dig
Bede Browne
I'll pop in from time to time like many others. A chance to be onsite should anything "BIG" develop.
Graham Dombkins
Hahaโฆ same Iโm sleeping soundly for this. Catch up later is fine.
Mary-Helen Armour
So cool! It really neat to be able to see the whole site. It a different perspective from just seeing videos. Gives a real sense of where everything is!
Nigel Sadler
Is that a Starlink dish I spy?
Patricia Amero
I hear you ๐ฅด

I upgraded to 5G, my old DSL connection was slow & choppy. I'm using Chrome, so far no issues (spin/zoom/sound) on my laptop. THIS IS INCREDIBLE. Patreon coverage is the next best thing to being there. ๐ฅฐ I'm cheering from Yukon, Canada. ๐ฃ GO TIME TEAM ๐
Gillian Gordon
Lovely! I felt as though I was there! Still seems to be broadcasting but not 360 any longer?x
Time Team
Hi, you should be able to move and rotate the view freely when watching on YouTube - this might be affected by the browser or device you are viewing on
thrushgreen
When I share this Livestream with YouTube, the picture is fixed, and there aren't controls to move it around. Is that right? Controls only on the Patreon view.
Bob Pockney
Great first view. Thanks to Kerry for the quick update.
Kerry Hennigan
Very interesting to see the site this way, on a live feed, while it's approaching 1 am here in Oz. Thank you, Time Team. ๐
Carrie Hartley
Yaay... May the weather gods be with you.. ๐ป
Time Team
Hi, look out for the livestream coming shortly. Please note there will no commentary with this stream.

Pauline R
And in 360 as well! I'm so excited! Thank you, Time Team!

Weโre coming from Brighton on Thursday evening to go to SH on Friday, canโt miss a chance like this! Will be watching all the live stuff, too, really excited! Enjoy, everyone!x
Carl Johnson
Glad to be on summer holiday so I can watch live. See you in a few hours.
Bron Lloyd
Brilliant! Not good for my time zone though - Iโll watch on catch up!
Jamie Goodman
I'm popping up to SH later in June to see what's been going on and catch a glimpse of the digging etc. ๐
Jamie Goodman
Yeh, TT commented last week saying that the successful volunteer applicants have already been contacted via email.
Time Team
Yes, volunteers have now be contacted, but thank you for the interest and we hope to share more opportunities in future. If any last minute places become available we will contact applicants individually.
Laura and Alex Tovey
I think successful people were going to be contacted and would have had forms to fill in by the 31st May, it said on one email, so I assume I wasn't successful!
Jude Meehan
So very excited for this, I have to admit I'm tempted to get up in the middle of the night to watch live, but at my age I think sleep will win out!
Matthew Adams
Fantastic!
Hove Steve
I assume all the lucky volunteers have been contacted? ๐
David de Groot
Ah this is where living in GMT+10 does not favour my chances of catching it live. ;-) Catchup later it'll have to be. Very exciting all the same.
Hove Steve
Brilliant. Can't wait
