LOL. I agree. Sit him on my dash, pointing the way. 🤭

This is a great Dig! I particularly like is that the focus on “villagers” vs Romans or the “High Status” leaders.
KikiKA
He uses a camera on a selfie stick type contraption.
Terhi Törmänen

There's a lovely sense of positive energy and enthusiasm among everybody on the site--plus some optimistic early expansion of the site on Day 1. Great episode! Thanks Time Team!
Andy Quick
That was a great first episode, with many interesting features. I am looking forward to the rest! I was wondering, what is that crazy camera technique that they are using to film Stewart? 😊
Kelly Smith
Maybe there should be a Time Team line of Funko Pops?
Nigel Bell
a) I've enjoyed the use of the 'from within' camera perspective eg. making the kiln, and digging the briquetage(?) pit; & b) as much as I understand the value of branding, and quite enjoy the Time Team merch' designs, the child in me delighted in knowing that, when it comes to investigating gracile skeletons, "SPECTRUM is Green!" (SIG, Dr Smith!) 😊

Fascinating and fun as always. Looking forward to days 2 and 3. Loved Lawrence’s striped t-shirt. It brought back memories of Mick Aston.

Tell Lawrence we love his T-shirt. And maybe where he bought it, guess lots of fans would die to get their hands on it

Several good answers given already, so just to add - in the UK, when Time Team was originally on TV, it was often broadcast close to when a lot of people would be eating dinner. Dinner time is, in many parts of the UK, referred to as 'tea time' (although as the Wiki above states, this can mean other mealtimes as well.)
Roger Mills
Oh, the fact'ries may be roaring with a boomalacka zoomalacka whee, But there isn't any roar when the clocks strike four. Everything stops for tea. Oh, a lawyer in a courtroom, in the middle of an alimony plea, Has to stop and help 'em pour when the clock strikes four. Everything stops for tea. (Jack Buchanon) Just about sums it up
Kerry Hennigan
Loving this. Am impatient for the rest of the episodes. 👍

This site obviously has a long, long history. Who will be surprised should bronze age or even mesolithic evidence appears (not me)?
Michael Sperry
What an incredible dig! I can't wait to see the rest of the videos! And what a lovely ending to Day 1, with that evocative folk music! I hope we get some interview time with Derek describing his family's history at this farm.
Michael O'Connor
Time Team was traditionally shown at Sunday tea time from what I gather, so it has a special connection.

I watch many archeology shows, but Time Team's layout suits me the best. As a non Brit, I do question something. What the hell is tea time? I've heard it on the previous Time Team and now the current one and still don't know what it is.

Was Lawrence's shirt a deliberate homage to Mick's iconic jumper/sweater?
Brian Y Caldwell
Lawrence's colorful shirt is giving me welcome flashbacks to Mick Aston's sweaters.
