I've heard it said that happiness isn't really a state you achieve in life--more like something that happens sometimes. It made a lot more sense to me that way, especially as someone who has depressive episodes every so often. (I do my best to be grateful, but, like the comic says, it only goes so far!) Maybe happiness is episodic as well.
Maybe one with your circle hands next time? :thinking:
