Such incredible writing. I watched the 20/20 episode and they had led with their coverage with "but there's a twist" but the writing was so well done that I didn't even know it was the same case until the gun in the park. This is the second episode now that Casefile has delivered a twist with such magnificence. The team is really doing incredible work.

One thing that stood out to me was the podcast never addressed why the police weren't doing more to look into or even arrest Cari after the admissions to the fire and smashing the window etc. It then made more sense later - they wouldn't have been able to find her if they tried. Even to impose a restraining order. But it was still a bit confusing as a listener going through everything she was doing with not much response or action from authorities.

On Friday I listened to another podcast cover this case but in a much shorter way. 24 hours later, Casefile do a 75 min version. Weird coincidence but had to happen eventually. This is a truly crazy and bizarre story and even though I knew where it was going, your version had new details I didn’t know.

I'm so glad you guys covered this case! Because of the close pov I didn't realize what case I was listening to until pretty far along, and even then I was doubting my own memory of what happened! Such a tragic, nihilistic death. And the idea that her ex spent 8 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit is jawdropping -- not something I've heard other podcasts discuss when they cover this case. Excellent work as always.

It's a case that's been covered on several other true crime podcasts (understandably), but not on Casefile before. It does bear some similarities to the Amy Allwine case and the case of the schoolteacher who was accused of harassing her colleague, which was also a bonus Casefile ep. It's also very similar to the Michelle Hadley case, which Casefile hasn't covered (yet).

This is, hands down, the most amazing true crime story I have ever heard or heard of, ever. Absolutely incredible research and storytelling. I’m almost sad because I feel like nothing this good can ever be produced again! Great detective work too, to be able to piece it together at last, thank God on behalf of the victims and their families. Hopefully podcasts like this raise awareness/knowledge/techniques to help solve more crimes for those whose lives are destroyed by them.

The level of research this podcast does is incredible. I live in Omaha and this was the best coverage of this particular case I've ever come across. It was far more involved and detailed than any local coverage I've seen. This area has experienced shocking number of high profile murders/crime in the past decade. They all seen to involve people and places very familiar to me. It's really quite sad. I even know someone who was (falsely) arrested and detained for the murders committed by Nikko Jenkins. I'm always impressed by the professionalism and kindness of this podcast.
