Jesus Christ, the trauma Sarah experienced is unbelievable. Being transported by your kidnapper in the back of a car while lying on bags containing the dismembered bodies of your mother and brother, before being held captive, starved and sexually assaulted - how does anyone recover from that? Sarah, wherever you are, I so hope you’re okay

happy to get an episode that's just straightforward, especially one that's well-told and easy to follow. not that this latest series has been *bad* but it feels like more than a few episodes recently have had some big twist. it can get tiring! in my view, it gets a little narratively repetitive. i know this podcast is difficult to make, and i have a lot of respect for the entire crew! it just makes it hard to get into the episodes because i always expect some huge twist that throws the storyline (for lack of a better term--i don't mean to trivialize the very real crimes being discussed) in a different direction. i personally just don't like seeing those too often because it makes it hard for me to "commit" to an episode. makes it all feel sort of ephemeral/temporary. anyway! good listen.
