I can't recommend Violet Evergarden highly enough, not least because it's the same composer as Frieren, before he did Frieren and it's at least just as wonderful to listen to with a different feel.

Little late for the train here, and I see a lot of good suggestions, but I'm gonna suggest 86. I love the story and characters, also musically the composer for the OST is Hiroyuki Sawano, who is of course the composer for the first 3 seasons of Attack on Titan as well.

dungeon meshi is certainly an absolute joy to watch and rewatch. definitely recommend to consider reading the manga on your own time in any case. it's an absolute masterclass in worldbuilding with delightful characters and a really good story. one of the two composers for the anime also happens to be Yasunori Mitsuda, which is, you know, pretty great

Little late to the party but how about Ranking of Kings, its artstyle is great and the story is actually pretty adult centered despite it, its a great anime that's already completed.

Theres many but i'd like to see your reactions from a musical viewpoint as well- not just a hype reactor so all of these are series I know that has interesting (and a large variety of) OSTs. But they are all good stories as well. Composer: Yuki Kaijura - She also worked on some Ar Tonelico songs Animes: Kara no Kyoukai (aka. The Garden of Sinners) Puella Magi Madoka Magica Composer: Evan Call - Likely one of the, if not the most popular right now due to his recent works in Frieren and Violet Evergarden. Animes: Sousou no Frieren (aka. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) Violet Evergarden Composer: Kevin Penkin - He has burst into the (anime) scene with Made in Abyss and I love his use of a variety of instruments and sounds. (the OST is not very classical and more game like imo). Anime: Made in Abyss Composer: Susumu Hirasawa - I would consider him to be the most experimental of this suggestion list. Animes: Millennium Actress (anime movie) Paprika (anime movie) Paranoia Agent Composer(s): Satoru Kosaki - While he is still great at more emotional (be it tragic or epic) music, its his songs for 'normal' moments that really catch my attention. Moments like a day at a park or walking home in the street etc. Animes: Monogatari Series Beastars Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song

I agree with Tarun, you should check out Violet Evergarden also I recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion reboot series which got turned into movies there's 4 in total I believe, they are excellent

I think he'd like ReZero but saying it has no weird stuff is letting it off the hook too easily lol. I'd say the difference is where other anime in the genre use "weird" weeby creepy stuff for self-indulgence, ReZero uses it for characterization, but the line is pretty thin.

I´ll just list a few in no particular order: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Deathnote, Cowboy Bebop, Frieren, Soul Eater, Kill La Kill. To name a few. Honorable mentions: Tonikawa (if you want some sugar), HOUKAGO TEIBOU NISSHI (its about fishing, there is like only 1 or 2 sus scenes. other than that it´s got chill vibes), Ascendance of a Bookworm (I´ll level with you here, I´d rather you pick up the light novel instead it´s available on kindle), Nichijou (slapstick comedy is going to make your tummy hurt)

Re:zero. This is genuinely peak. No wasted episodes. No wasted dialogue. No nudity and "weird" stuff. And genuinely interesting all around. The story's strengths mainly revolve around the complex human characteristics of its characters, mainly the main character.

Spice and Wolf I and II (2008 version) dub. Wonderful dub, and soundtrack. music is folk, Irish, bagpipes, violin, and flute. No nudity. No violence. About Economy, drama, adventure. *BTW, make sure your Full Metal Alchemist is the "Brotherhood" version. Faithful to the Manga. The early 2000s FMA is not faithful. They went off the road and off script.

You need to watch Cowboy Bebop. I would also recommend Hyouka. If you're interested in movies, any of the Ghibli films or Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name are good starts.

FLCL (Fooly Cooly) comes to mind. The original series is short and sweet, but there’s a lot to love about it with it’s characters and music. I think you might like it. Also, Ghost in the Shell, both the original movie and the Stand Alone Complex anime. Strong sci-fi series.

Death Note. Doesn't have many soundtracks and the few ones are ok'ish but the writing though... is very good. Not on pair to AoT (it also has like less than 40 chapters) but still a masterpiece imo. As everyone has a particular taste for genres, anime should not be an exception. Death Note is (according to wiki) a Mystery Psychological thriller and Supernatural thriller, so if you are into that you should give it a try although it being a masterpiece should be enough reason :D

I second Wolf’s Rain in terms of shows; soundtrack is by Yoko Kanno. Death Parade is as goofy as it is heartbreaking. If you’re open to movies, Inu-Oh is very musically focused.

Well I'll give you two. Neon Genesis Evangelion is unbelievably impactful. The soundtrack is undoubtedly one of the greatest from Japan. I'd also say Steins:Gate (adapted from the visual novel) is masterful as well. They are extremely emotional

I have to suggest Jojo's Bizarre Adventures. It honestly has a lot of points that I think you would enjoy. The author was heavily inspired by Italian culture and Roman statues for the poses. The author ends up naming a lot of characters after famous music bands or songs. Jojo has a lot of openings, and they are all considered to be really, fantastic musical openings. On top of the soundtracks during the show itself being great and having several tracks that are iconic. The show is very unique and doesn't fall in my opinion into any other category of anime. Example, I wouldn't call it a shonen like One Piece or a typical battle anime like Dragon Ball. The story of the show itself is kinda paradoxical with the title of the show, but it makes sense. The situations in the story are completely bizarre and ridiculous in a vacuum. But it is taken very seriously in the show itself and not as a joke. As a viewer, you will often get dragged into that mindset and take the situation very seriously. Only after finishing an episode and having a sort of moment of clear mindedness, you realize that you just took a game of rock-paper-scissors to the death super seriously and enjoyed it. And the final point is that the show does not have any ecchi, perverted, fan service or questionable camera angles. It is entirely focused on the story and action. That has been my presentation on why you should give Jojo's a chance. And yes I will admit that I glazed the living hell out of it because it is my personal favourite anime xD
