Going on hiatus for December

Thank you all very much again for voting in last month's Patreon Pinup Poll. Rebecca came out victorious, and despite my enthusiasm, my experience trying to complete a single illustration featuring this wonderful character from Cyberpunk Edgerunners quickly turned into hell. I made multiple sketches, started over and over several times, in hope to arrive at a result I was personally satisfied with. But in the end, I couldn't manage to create something even remotely decent. It's gotten really difficult for me to draw and find motivation after the many recent events this year (NFTs, AI, now Twitter shitting the bed) and I'm afraid I reached burnout without realizing it.
I apologize for disappointing you all. I'm aware the bar is so, so low to begin with. I already pushed animations aside, and as it is, my one single job each month is to make just one single piece of artwork. But it seems I couldn't deliver on that promise this time. It is not only extremely frustrating as an artist to hold this little control over my art's quality or my drawing speed, but even more so knowing so many of you are willing to support such an incapable idiot like me.
I refuse to receive money under such disgusting circumstances, you all deserve much better. So, I've put my Patreon account on hiatus for this next month. When December 1st hits, you won't be charged and no money will be taken from your wallet. I also decided to cancel December's Patreon poll. Holiday season is coming and I'm already struggling to deal with my current workload as it is, so I'm afraid I would just repeat the same mistake again. I hope you can understand.
Thank you all for believing in me, I'd like to apologize for struggling this much. It's been surprisingly difficult. Please do not hesitate to cancel your membership at any time especially if you deem somebody else could benefit more from it. I'll try my best to pull it together and get back on track eventually.

You seem to be in the depths of a bout of depression. I strongly recommend that you get some of your IRL friends and/or family, and go do something that you enjoy doing together. Miniature golf, bowling, see a movie, surfing... anything enjoyable. Something that makes you feel better, without worrying about doing art. (But probably not drinking alcohol!) Fix your depression, and forget about everything else for a while. Your fans will wait for you.

Holiday seasons are already stressful enough and the art world's been taking some really unexpected rocky roads over the past year. Totally don't blame you for feeling the pressure, especially when you find a more natural roadblock you've never found before. People can get caught on the strangest things and that's chill. Feel the frustration and let it wash away as it goes. Still gonna believe in you all the same.

It's all right, take a break if you need it. And thanks for explaining it to us all. :) But you know, you're not an idiot, you're just human, and a pretty decent one too. :) You are wise enough to know when something goes wrong, and polite enough to explain it to the people waiting for your work : that's not easy, and that is a proof of courage. Your work is great, and as Chase Kirkham wrote, seeing it really makes my day. So don't forget there are people who love your art and your dedication. Take care ! :)

Having a time off from time to time its really important. All of us artist reach a time when we burn out for different reasons. Talking on the artistic side , trying other artstyles/topics may help you out in your time out since its really easy to lose motivation (maybe its not your case) when working the same over and over. I hope you can come back more powerful than before and keep producing content that you like and enjoy!

You are anything but an incapable idiot and I think your beautiful collection of work proves that point! The fact that you are struggling now does not negate that. The past several years have been hard on a lot of people, and I can't blame you for getting burnt out. Life is hard enough just trying to meet your own basic needs under capitalism. When extra pressure is put on by circumstances outside of your control (covid, nfts, ai, elon musk, etc) it's very easy to fall into a rut. I can't speak for your entire community, but I don't support you because I expect X number of works to be completed per month or else. I support you because seeing new work from you truly makes my day and that is incredibly valuable to me. Please take off as much time and give yourself as much self-care as you need. You deserve it! I will be cheering you on from the sidelines!
