I enjoyed seeing Burt Reynolds again, since I'd only ever seen him in Smokey and the Bandit prior! Please enjoy and I'm looking forward to your thoughts below!

I have to agree with you a bit on Burt and Dolly feeling more like good friends than in love with one another. It took a long time just for them to even kiss in the movie. π So much so that I thought maybe Dolly had a no-real-kissing policy since she had already been with her husband for 16 years at that point.

Apparently Burt and Dolly did NOT get along during the making of this movie. Burt had a reputation for being a little egomaniacal and hard to work with. However, you can't really tell in the finished film. I enjoy it, although I wish I liked it a little better -- even if it's tethered to a true story and has to end the way it does, I think there was probably a more satisfying version of that ending (although part of it is that while the two characters seem like great friends, I am not as convinced it's true love).
