Hey Allies! I know a lot of us out there have a specific game that we come back to for a yearly replay. For me, that game is Spyro 2: ripto's rage. I've been doing this for about 15 years now, and started playing the reignited version once that released a few years ago in its place. I realized it had been over a year since my last playthrough so I picked it up last night and found that I knew every single thing about every single stage so well, down to where each individual gem was, that the game was starting to lose meaning for me. I 100%ed the first three levels In about 20 minutes without even paying attention to the screen. My question to you all is, have you ever played a favorite of yours so much that you find you can autopilot through the entire thing and it begins to lose some of the fun? Is the traditional game review dead? Hello Allies, I feel like publishers are starting to game the traditional review system and making these release day reviews irrelevant. The most egregious example is Sony with GT7. Not only did they add tons of expensive micro-transactions they changed the whole economy of the game to force players spend real money on all the nice cars. It's obvious Sony just waited for the reviews to drop before adding these scummy micro-transactions. The reviews don't even represent the state of the game on launch anymore, so do they still have value? With jones' retirement is it time for release day reviews to go the way of the dodo? Thanks
