This was a great episode. I love how the sensei is shown several times just listening and reflecting on what Miyata is saying, like reexamining stuff, but at the same time he is actively pursuing him in a very mature way, he's not playing games or being coy about it

In the last scene, Shiraishi says that Miyata became a pillow, which is an extremely rude way of saying that he actually sold his body to get a manuscript, and that's why he made Miyata so angry.

Just want to add that the assistant actually says "Must have been tough though. You had to sleep around for business." He clearly mentions that Miyata is sleeping with Iwanaga for the job and that's why Miyata is responding with anger, telling him not to even joke about it.

I got the impression he heard about the bet and Takashi laughing with his friends so he assumed that Takashi was just teasing and messing with how earnest he was. Also have to say this show makes pecks feel so heavy and intimate.. damn

This show is so good! Btw, I think you may have missed the dialogue about the bet, it's super quick - but Miyata found out that Iwanaga had made a bet with another friend on whether Miyata would show up for their elopement. So that plus the fact that Iwanaga was of higher status at school made him think that Iwanaga had just been playing with him the whole time.
