and looking back i just realized Winter just answered that one “obvious” question from the student by saying the answer should be obvious. And Ironwood says Ozpin is tricky

I expected the joint blackmail with Penny and Jaune, but I did not expect the turnaround, even till the very end I thought Penny would have secretly swiped some drive with her OP-ness, but I like this version better.

Essentially, yes, everyone there should (assuming no forged transcripts) be "good enough" to be trained. They'd already have combat ability from prior schools. What Atlas was looking for was the correct mentality. I wanted it to seem different from Beacon, which basically says "If you're good/lucky enough to not face any Grimm, you win." Honestly, given RWBY and JNPR faced HUGE Grimm and barely survived, you can maybe see how unfair initiation in Beacon was. I bet the other teams didn't face nearly the same challenge as they did.

Not what I was expecting. It certainly *seemed* like a combat test but I guess that was by design. If each team figured it out would they accept everyone? Or would that be a non issue do to everyone being superhuman teenagers/young adults with something to prove?
