As a small gift, I've attached a chapter of an old story idea that's currently in limbo. Not 100% sure if I'll ever do it, as it's one of those ideas that comes, seems fun, but which you don't necessarily believe will make for a full story.
It was inspired by stories of fae and fairies - not as helpful little sprites but murderous and otherworldly creatures who prey on humankind.
Given season 10 of RWBY and the everafter, this is almost canon lol. Fairies totally could exist in the space between worlds, and influence Remnant in their own way. The ideas I had were of Jaune joining the least-influential court, the autumn court, and there being big conflicts between the Seelie and Unseelie (Summer and WInter courts). Other characters would be involved - such as Summer Rose literally being a summer fae who slept with Taiyang but then didn't die; she just grew bored of Taiyang, Yang and Ruby and abandoned them - because she's a fae, and so inhuman.
Ruby would be a half-fae or changeling, Weiss' family has dealings with fae and is aligned with the winter courts, and probably something-something Salem is a rogue fairy, etc. As I said, I didn't plan it all out as it began to feel like it's better as an "idea" and not as a "story", but who knows where the future is involved.

I don't know how this would do as a story but it is interesting as an idea indeed. I would be interested to see how you depict the dangerously capricious nature of the Fae and the workings of the courts.

Merry Christmas! When you said an idea that was in limbo I almost expected a chapter of ‘a hunter or something’ but this could be interesting to follow through on. With the Everafter basically anything is possible

Merry Christmas and also revisite this story if your bored enough To write it I reccomed going in welsh,Irish,germanic Scottish folklore alongside Russian/Siberian mythology for more fairy stuff(there gods are so fea coded)
