Full bodies! I love doing these from time to time.
Yeah ... when you see them standing next to each other, they all look the same. T_T No glasses, only white skin tones, three different hair colors, no curly hair, skinny or slightly athletic body types. It's really hard to break out of your favorite attributes. Like, I want to have more dark skinned characters, but their hair is kind of hard to draw (curly or really short) and if they don't color it, it's dark brown/black. Same with asian characters (+getting the face to look asian). And chubby or really big characters. They usually don't stay in my focus (Molle for example), even when I try to do something interesting with them. Shallow me.
This is in Levis timeline when he's around 16/17. (I need more Neos.) They all go to Tannenberg (the boarding school), but Jo and Lars are done with school since a year ago. Piet is either graduating or moved out already depending on the story.

About the Prof, I don't remember what I wrote about him, but I guess I feel ok about how he looks. Drawing asian features/eyes doesn't flow natural through my drawing hand though so it's a little difficult to nail it from every perspective. But it could be that it came through as if I weren't content with him. Have to draw him more often :D In his case, I'm interested in his cultural background and would do some research because I grew to like him enough. I don't think it has something to do with what kind of ethnicity he belongs to. My experience is, when a character is "born", he either grows a bond with me or he doesn't. Regardless of his looks. But there are aspects that I react to more than to others. Looks is just one thing. Personality and life is the other.

Lew, don't ever apologize for long comments. Your thoughts are always insightful as I said before; I love to hear your input! (also: you don't spam. You don't write often but when you do, it's in big chunks :D) You nailed the fear about getting characters wrong when you don't have personal experiences with them. I've been surrounded by 90% white people all my life |D I don't mean to exclude everyone else but I don't want to force me to write about something I don't know much about. Yes, I could go into research if I want it enough to be good. But still, if there's something else that itches me more, I'm gonna write about that still.
