It's an AU, has nothing to do with the games at all. They already explained that before the show dropped, which is why things from DMC2, 3, 4, and 5 are in this show. It is its only universe.

This doesn't really "FIT" into the video game timeline at all. It's set closest to 3, with the youngest and most naive version of Dante yet. Even in 3 he knew much more than he does starting this show. Don't try to fit it in with the games because it's honest it's own thing, starting a brand new continuity (much like with Castlevania)

I didn't know this show took place between DMC 1 and DMC 2!! I never played DMC 2 or 5 but i've beaten 1, 3, and 4. Pretty good show so far even if the story doesn't match up to the games earlier lore.

Wanted to say, Director of Castlevania, Animation by Studio Mir (The BOONDOCKS and Legends of Korra studio), and voiced by Lelouch himself, Johnny Yong Bosch... We eating good To-Niiight. First Netflix binge since Cyberpunk Edgerunners π Don't quote me, but DMC was basically a huge inspiration for Dark souls. Before Demon Souls and the first Dark Souls, DMC pretty much released 3-5 titles, revolutionizing the Boss Rush with no hand holding Meta that is Dark Souls today. If Wellz could beat Elden Ring, then He should definitely try out DMC3. It's still the hardest of them all, AND it introduces these characters and this Dante for the 1st time. It's also a prequel to 1 and 2 (TS 19:14 shouts to Lucia!), while 4 and 5 are AFTER 2...
