I like that sort of joke in the context of a roleplaying game with assigned party roles.
"Hey, it's my character's job to be a chaotic disaster. What's your excuse?"
Which isn't entirely fair because characters aren't one dimensional or wholly defined by their class but SSSSHHHH!!!

Character class doesn't impact your ability to be the voice of reason. I've had a barbarian act as the voice of reason. Of course that doesn't mean that you can have a party without a voice of reason. The voice of reason is a vital party role, just as important as the tank or the healer.
The problem with that approach is people who play chaotic stupid.
