“Opinion polls” are for feedback I will keep in mind for bonus images and non-canon nonsense. In-story, the characters will do whatever’s in-character.
Specifics always matter, but when choosing a general preference, it can be assumed any given scenario will be written around that preference.
The preference won't be forced into any given scenario. It can be taken as given that any situation will be written around the preference.

I also see it as something that Ashley would like, and since Elliot is always aiming to please, he would definitely go with what his girlfriend prefers, in my opinion (thus making it more romantic).

The specifics are always going to matter, but preferences can shape the scenario. It's not a case of "given any scenario whatsoever, what would you prefer." The scenario can be decided based on the preference. It doesn't have to be forcing the preference into a scenario that does not fit.

I have to agree with the others. It depends entirely on what the form is and why he's transforming.

It makes a difference if it's "Elliot, femme-presenting" or "Elliot has a specific intent for this transformation".

hmmm... I would say it depends on the form, but generally? Yeah, shorter than Ashley is cute.

I think that moderation is for the weak, so if he isn't staying just as tall or getting even taller he should become the shortest person in the room.
All are good options. Variety is one of the perks of transformation. About the same height is my choice for romantic reasons. Better for eye contact, kissing, and metaphorically leveling the ground for better communication.

Form and context are important, yes. If the transformation is "Amazonian goddess", then the change should be "taller than default form"…

I figured it would vary depending on the form. Might even be taller in her Cheerleadra form. But smaller or equal height to Ashley in other forms.
