My head canon from the second I heard kings voice has been that he is the sealed form or remains of bill cypher from gravity falls and the crown fixation is Bills hat.

I think the issue with Luz isn't so much her being "weird", but more not thinking her actions out. Like for example, like the snake thing put people in danger, the spider thing terrified people and potentially put them in danger, the eye thing, while not that big a deal, isn't good for her and freaked people out. She's extremely self centered and not considering how her actions will affect others, and I think that's her problem. Not so much being weird lol. And I think that's very much the mother's perspective, as she's clearly been trying to get her daughter to understand that, and it hasn't been working, so she doesn't know what else to do but stifle the weird quirks. Not to mention she prolly really wants her daughter to have friends.

It is kinda interesting that Wendie Malik from Hot in Cleveland is in it.

Agreed, the pacing was so fast for the first 6-8 minutes. I’m guessing they really just wanted us to “get into” what the show is actually about... so I can’t blame them. But Jeez, it felt like a race to say bye to home

A lot of great stuff in there, I did enjoy it, I am excited for the show. But, I thought the dialog got a little too “exposition-y” at times, explaining too much. I love reaching out to weirdos (like me!), but it was a little too on the nose about it. Again, just coming out and saying it, instead of showing it. I did like it, and I think it’ll settle into its groove quickly. But I’ve seen better premieres, like Infinity Train or even Amphibia.
