Making Some Changes

Right now, it's been a "donate if you feel it's right for you" type of deal. No threats of leaving youtube, no videos about "I will quit without donations" or anything like that. Still going strong and posting daily when Ad-Pocolysvpse started in January (10 months ago). Yeah I got hit, but I still posted daily for 10 months, every single day, with no days off.
But I would like to start making extra content here to treat it as a separate platform. Or at least this is what I'm thinking about doing. As you know, YouTube has made some big changes that are affecting everybody. YouTube's made changes a long time ago. I thought they would improve by now but they have not improved. It's been almost 1 year since ad companies pulled out and/or YouTube stopped allowing, for example, "lgbt" content to earn compensation. It's also a mystery as to why some of my videos earn barely anything.
My video entitled, "Noodle With Mr Noodle" received $15. The video was G-Rated, as well as the tags, description, key words, and thumbnail. All 3 of my videos with "Hungry Fat Chick" received extremely low revenue share; I'm assuming "fat chick" isn't an "advertiser-friendly" concept (again, my manager doesn't have an answer for this). My video called "Muslim Food" received $87, despite having over 800,000 views (I posted this on Twitter). Perhaps YouTube's current advertising companies don't want to their money going to videos about "muslims," due to it's current controversial ties. Again, no clear answers. On May 6th, I earned $0 in total from YouTube (also posted on Twitter). ASMR and Mukbang channels have been been hit particularly hard, due to their false association with "fetishes." Slurping noodles are sexual? Eating fast food isn't family friendly? As you can imagine, it's been difficult for me knowing how to go about posting videos. I get more help from Siri than I do from YouTube administration. I want to be creative and make entertaining content for you guys, but I also want to be able to provide for my family.
Videos are my favorite thing to do. It's like violin. It brings me so much joy. If I wanted to be rich, I definitely wouldn't have done freelancing as a career or YouTube as a career, because both are unstable financially. It's like living off of the stock market. You never know what's going to happen. There's no security, no health benefits, etc. So we packed our bags and moved to a 3rd world country so I could still do what I love to do while also making you guys happy. It is what is it. I'm telling you guys this to show you that I did what I needed to do what I wanted. Either I get a 2nd job and stop posting often, or I move someplace where living expenses aren't as high so that I CAN post often and make it work. I think some creators who aren't making much money also post just 1 or 2 times a week. But considering I did post daily for over a year, I know first hand it doesn't always come out to be what it used to. But I'm not giving up anytime soon, so don't you worry. LOL
So like the start of this message says, I'm thinking about turning this into a separate content platform where I can make special eating shows, violin shows, vlogs, behind the senses videos, etc that is in ADDITION to youtube. YouTube will still be there, and I will continue to post often!
I see lots of YouTubers making Patreons that start at $10 a month, $20 a month and all the way up into the thousands... in exchange for Twitter Follows, emails, giveaways, and responding to your comments, etc. Here's the thing... I already do all those things without putting a price on it. I take the time to follow everybody back on Twitter, I've done giveaways (not sponsored giveaways, out of my own pocket... even on my wedding day), I respond to comments on YouTube, I answer basically all of my emails (unless it's spammy), etc. I don't want to say that I'm "worth" for example $20 a month for me to notice you. Because I already notice ALL of you or at least I do my best to do so....
For this reason, My patreon will continue to stay at $1 a month, if/when I make these changes to this account. I want it to be affordable for everybody!!! I don't think I should have the price of Netflix where you can view thousands of videos/tv shows. I don't think I should have the price of Amazon where you can watch hundreds of movies. $1 is where the entry fee will stay at, and you can donate more, if you want, if you choose, if you feel it's right for you, then you can. That's it. Simple as that. If you want to support me more than $1, that's up to you. Please know I'm grateful.
So I'm making this post to see what you guys think about it. I did a poll on Twitter. 40% said YES 30% said NO and 30% said MAYBE. But I didn't go into detail with my thoughts and what you can expect to find on Patreon. Again, it will be special full length mukbangs, vlogs with Orlin and the family, violin songs, behind the scenes videos, and just "talking videos" where I talk about whatever is going on in life.
So let me know your thoughts about it.

Hey Nik, I think this is a great idea! I really like the content you post here, although your funny YouTube videos are always a joy I also loved getting to know more about the real you. At the end of the day, this is your platform and you have your own finances to think about. As a fellow Taurus, I can empathize with how hard you work! It’s only fair that you are paid adequately for all the effort you put in ❤️
