Control Scheme & Evasive Maneuvers
🕑 Added 2014-08-07 03:19:13 +0000 UTC Hello again, patrons! Most of the last few days have been spent concepting and getting all of my plans laid out and ready. To that end, I decided to plan out a final control scheme for the game earlier today while reworking the controls.Here's what I've got:
WSAD - Movement, aiming. Rapidly tap to struggle when KO'd.
J - Jump. Double jump in midair, jump through platforms when holding Down (S).
K - Shoot.
I - Alternate shoot. Pressing this button uses whatever sub-weapon is currently equipped.
; - Diagonal aim button. Forces Alicia to aim diagonally when held, maintains last direction held.
Spacebar - Sub-weapon switch. Changes which sub-weapon Alicia has equipped.
L - Action button. Holding down/up initiates either a slide (while on the ground) or an aerial dodge. Holding nothing or forward causes a melee attack, or interacts with objects in the environment (?)
H - (Only while on ground) Alicia plays an animation and takes her clothing off, disabling her movement and inviting enemies to have sex with her. Enemies who aren't already attacking at this point will immediately move towards her for sex. If enemies are nearby, requires ~10 seconds before she can move again.
You may have noticed the dodging abilities listed under the Action button. I do believe I've found a system I'm happy with; thanks to Cain and Sarul for their thoughts, they helped me work it out.
There are two different types of dodges; the slide, and the aerial dodge. The slide is a ground-only maneuver that allows Alicia to dodge attacks that are aimed at her torso, as well as slide underneath small gaps. The air dodge is a twirly sort of animation that makes Alicia invincible for a brief moment, evading any attacks that would hit her during its duration.
I'm open to any suggestions you guys might have, whether they're about the default control scheme, the dodging system, or anything else! Maybe next time I'll detail some of Alicia's upgrades..? Unless you guys want that to remain a secret ;D

It sounds good, I look forward to seeing the submit animation. I still suggest adding some dialogue of some sort to sex scenes...if nothing else, the first sex scene for an enemy should have one.

The aerial dodge wouldn't effect your movement at all. You can still move around freely while you're doing the animation, but you won't be able to shoot or anything until the animation ends. Glad you like the ideas, though!
One question with the aerial dodge, where do you land after dodge? in the same location? It would be nice to be able to position your landing after the attack in order to plan your next move.
This sounds very interesting. I can't wait to give the combat a whirl. Alicia's upgrades would be fun to experience without knowing. it would also be nice to get involved in their construction though. I'll be that indifferent person on the matter
