Movies never get the New Orleans accent correct. They either go over the top Cajun which in the city proper there are almost no people with Cajun accents. Sometimes they just use southern accents which also doesn't really work for New Orleans. Northern Louisiana definitely has a stronger southern accent but it is way more subtle than the way Tim Roth (Hopper) was speaking. My parents were both from Northern Louisiana but when in New Orleans they only had a hint of a southern accent. Anytime we visited family in the North LA, their accent would change drastically. TLDR, Tim Roth is using a bad southern accent which sounds nothing like most people in New Orleans.

Wow. I had a very vague early childhood memory when they were walking through the park. Sure enough the movie was filmed in New Orleans where I live. I don't think I've been in that section of the park in 40+ years.

Need to add a warning to this video, Biss, don't try that knife trick at home. A fun movie. Overall, it's cute yet demented; not sure how well it will play on streaming, though. :P
