Take your time, try to walk around the room, you’ll be used to it in no time. Clint told him before turning to Sofia. And now it’s your turn. He eagerly said, brandishing his hammer.
Sofia involuntarily shuddered.
Good news, it should be so bad that I can almost guarantee you will not be waking up midway this time. Just think of the stat points, yeah?
“You do remember where I ended up last time I let you… Right?”
And you survived, right? Shouldn’t happen again, I know what to expect this time. Just lie down and let me do the rest.
“... Sure… Oh, right, should I put the earring on beforehand?” Sofia asked, grabbing the master earring out of the small storage ring containing her winnings that had appeared in her hand midway through Pareth’s race change.
No need. It would just make my job harder for no reason. The stats you get will be the same either way.
“Alright. I’m ready then…”
Sofia climbed onto the cold black anvil.
When she was well in place, with Pareth watching from the side, holding himself upright with the help of his sword, Clint changed his hammer for a different, more dangerous-looking one.

“This is absurd…” Sofia muttered, looking around as she slowly woke up. She did not recognize the bedroom she was in, again. Pareth and Bookie were not there, though Sofia could feel their presence a few hundred meters away. The only other person present was Pestle, sleeping next to Sofia on a large pillow.
“Hey,” Sofia called out, poking the sleeping fairy skeleton.
“More… Sleeping…” the fairy mumbled, clutching the pillow harder. The silk pillowcase burst under her grip, sending white feathers flying all over the bed. “Ack! Nooooo…”
“My bad. Shouldn’t have poked you.”
“Sofia! You wake?!”
“As you can see. Was I out for long?”
“Three day!” Pestle said, “Sleep in Kuki house!” she explained, before starting to clean up the mess she had just made.
Kuli? We’re back to the human continent?
Extending her mana senses, Sofia tried to look around, but her perception was confined to this one room. Hmmm? Creation’s rune. Clint must have sealed the room.
“The air is thick with my mana…” Sofia noted, waving her hand around, watching a faint mist of mana flow around her palm and between her fingers. “But it’s not uncomfortable.”
Pestle stopped gathering the falling feathers for a second and nodded, “Own power, very comfort!”
“Up until a certain point. This is a lot more than I was able to handle before though… But that makes sense…”
Observing her skin, Sofia could directly see the mana leaking out, like sparkly particles of white dust, because she was producing so much excess. She held such a large amount now that she could physically feel the movement of the mana coursing through her body with no concentration or effort, like one could feel their heartbeat after a sprint. And that’s without the earring… Speaking of which…
Sofia opened the small storage ring that was still on her left hand’s finger.
Far concoction, the cursed ring, strategist ring, the pin, the catalyst, the earring… Two kilograms of mithrium, a bunch of stones, and the philosopher’s stone. Everything’s here except for the gold, mithril and random stuff I bought with the rest of my points… Pareth should have Jin’s key.
The catalyst still needed priming, but the earring was already full with her mana, as she had worked on it during the last week of the trial.
Time to say goodbye to two skill slots…
Sofia brought the tiny Mithrium earring to her left ear and before she could even try to put it on, it latched onto her earlobe by itself, and Sofia could feel both her magic uncontrollably invading the item’s mana circuits, and it somehow invading hers back. When it reached her mana heart, quickly, her total mana started to rise.
I feel like I’m a bout to burst!

If she had to equate it to a more human feeling, it was like throwing up one’s entire stomach and instantly feeling the pain and nausea go away. This is going… To take some time to get used to…
“Sick Sofia?” Pestle asked, her arms loaded with tightly packed feathers. “Need leg?”
“I’m fine… Don’t worry. Just… A bit too much mana.”
“Ah! Pesle know,” she said, quickly stuffing the feathers back into the ripped pillowcase, before jumping on top of the catalyst Sofia still held. “Like too much leg! Let flow!”
“Let flow?”
Pestle nodded, “Instinct is keep all the leg! Only good for weak or sneaky! Strong is always let flow!”
“I need to train to always let the excess flow out instead of letting it leak out by itself?”
“Sofia very understand!” Pestle confirmed.
“An unexpected side effect of power huh… That could be dangerous though. Hanging out around low level humans while leaking out two million mana a second… In a closed room they might actually die from exposure…”
“Hmmm… Pesle not make mana, not sure what do…”
“You helped enough thanks, for now I can send the excess to the catalyst anyway, I’ll figure something out.”
“Tme for leg?!”
“Give me a minute to check out my skill evolution first, then yes, I’m hungry too.”

Clint holding back the ice-pick till the last second is so like him :-P So the stat gains are a straight-up multiplier now. Cool. The way you presented it is fairly confusing, though. Probably better to just list the overall bonus of each level, rather than differences. I'm a little surprised divinity went up so little... I hope there's another way for her to boost that. Still seems likely that more of that potion might increase it. Pestle is adorable as usual. Ok, wow. That's even more than I guessed. She went up ~37x in max mana this time. ~21x not counting the earring. That's a new record by a long shot, either way. Priming the catalyst will only take 5.5 days in sunlight, or 13.6 days out of sunlight. Totally not an issue, after all. Yeah, Hungering Hand is a good choice. Synergizing on having lots of essences makes perfect sense, and not having complete control over the shift is unlikely to be too big a deal, considering it seems to be a contextual/instinctual thing, not a random thing. Curious what [Tides of Sorrow] is, though. Calculation issues: Why are her levelling bonuses (just from the level itself) doubled now? I have a vague recollection of something related to this, but I cannot find the reason. (This did not happen at 250.) Listed stamina bonus is wrong: 373,651 * 10 = 3,736,510, not 3,736,110 (final stamina value is correct, however) Mis-rounded pre-earring no-sunlight regen: I get 478,734.482 mana/sec, which rounds down to 478,734, not up to 478,735 (probably not worth worrying about) Corrections: “Sleep in Kuki house!” Kuki -> Kuli (Obviously this could be just how Pestle talks. I wonder what else she can do, willingly or not, with that kinda passive mana output. Would it mutate/strengthen plants/animals around her over time? Like if she chills in her dutchy lettin the mana flow freely for a few months?

At the end of the chapter she turned into the demon form with a thought I might mean that there are some situations where it is uncontrollable but in general it appears to be a something she can do at will

There are 86,400 seconds in a day assuming the same 24 hour days. This means Sofia's base mana regeneration is 73,212,854,400/day and in sunlight its 178,641,072,000/day (I know this would require 24 hours of sunlight but it's possible if she were to hangout in space or something like that for some reason). This means Sofia's 470 days of mana debt equate to somewhere between 34,410,041,568,000 and 83,961,303,840,000 mana depending on how much time she's in the sun during that period. ...I'm actually a bit surprised it didn't hit the 100 trillion mark.

Hmm so the original change condition was to empty her mana pool and eat her heart. It's cool that she no longer needs to eject her heart from her chest to transform. That was always impractical even if it was pretty cool. I'm betting her new transformation conditions still have hitting 0 mana but also include emotional triggers like intense sorrow, grief, or rage, and maybe a physical trigger or two like hunger (even though she doesn't need to eat so long as there's light) or maybe being especially close to death? Probably not that last one actually considering how often she kills herself. 🤔 I wonder if the transformation still includes a full HP refill?

These evolutions have downsides large enough one would consider them downgrades. Kind of the same with Pareth. So our poor lass gonna change form now everytime she hiccups or something? Perhaps pouring hot/cold water on her might trigger it? Call her Apostle ½. :-p

Thanks for the chapter! (Still ill so you get an abridged comment). Pareth struggling to walk is weird, but I guess I can see it. 100 mil mana pre earring was my guess, so that seems pretty good. Kuki is very Pesle. I suppose she would have Creation's rune now, didn't really think she did, but his workshop would have had it I guess. Hungering hand of Sorrow is interesting, my guess would be that it's more directly Sorrow controlled, but the description doesn't really indicate that. Full authority is nice though.
