Film-maker/Documentarian here. I loved the note about how the quality of camera is less important than what the camera is pointed at. I shot my latest documentaries in Scandinavia last year with an iphone 11pro (+moment lenses, filmic pro app, and gimbal, fyi). There are limitations, for sure, but I came to the same conclusion. The spirit of the thing is still the spirit of the thing, whether or not it's in glossy 4k... and there's a lot of things filmed in glossy 4k that have no spirit.

I kind of liked the muffled Lucy sound because it made her sound kind of ominous to me, and I thought of the exact same claymation. I love the book the angel is based on by Twain too.

big vibes on the annoyance of people just calling covid the same as the flu. I get this a lot when I mask and 1) I want neither, thanks, 2) we've managed to kill off a strain of the flu with our covid prevention so if they're the same then this stuff works... 3) THE BRAIN FOG AND EXHAUSTION THO. I'm not in a financial situation to just up and lose 10 days of my life and I know people who've had the effects linger so I got so anxious it would never leave I've had the flu once and I was sick for a few days and then had a lingering cough for the next month. That sucked but I was able to just carry on with my life in a way that I just couldn't with covid
