Yeah, I’ve watched and rewatched and this particular time I paid attention to the music and not the drama and just had a “wtf/why???” moment listening to the song play during what is still clearly a white supremacy rally, just for old folks, Women, and kids instead of prison thugs…

So, wondering if the irony of a negro spiritual being sang by white people to make you feel for the ‘good’ people of the church whom I don’t believe are ignorant of Zobelle’s Yt Supremacy views was on purpose or am I reaching by thinking Kurt Sutter chose that version for that reason? And yes Nikki save the children, if they can be saved but… I feel like Kurt used the moments in this episode to touch on the fact that in our country, childhood and whatever protection it may afford a child is an opinion sadly, often relative to color.
