I thought it fitting that Switch wouldn't be able to help but presume some intimacy with Bria, despite having just "met" her for the first time physically. Switch always has liked Bria, and would jump at the chance to help her with any problems she might have.

It was mostly from the game and briefly touched on in the comic, yes. Though Halver did refer to her as his "boss" in the comic because the game was still somewhat recently released at the time so I thought I'd give it a year or so before I specified her as "queen."
