I thought the new satans took part in that conflict and that they were 200 years old at most.

The Devil Civil War canonically ends by the 1400's or so. The factions have a tenuous peace since that point. There's plenty of stuff I can play around with in the setting though. A lot of characters outside the humans have been around for centuries and I'm planning to use some expies of other franchise's characters to keep things interesting. Of particular note will be the American Hunter's Guild which will borrow heavily from RWBY adapted to the setting.

Is that location in the US east coast ? I suppose the greater question is how exactly the MC is going to be relevant to the greater DxD world. My understanding is that North America was considered the bonnies in the greater continuity of the setting. And given how far in the past the story is located the only possible canon characters would be some of the older faction leaders. On the other hand the Devil civil war should be starting about this time so there might be some possibilities for interventions there. It would be extra "let the buttefly's wing make the world tremble" to meddle there once the MC has established himself.

Considering that a lot of these events haven't happened yet, they'll have to be touched on when the narrative happens, but you make a few interesting points as regards supernatural intervention and the validity thereof for modern conflicts. But it's still 1810 and this is marked as an Alt. History fic. So regardless of what did or didn't happen in 'canon' DxD, you can expect things to be pretty wildly AU by the time the modern period rolls around.

The application of Inspired Inventor in this fic will function differently, both because I want to shake things up and because I want to have it function more as an in-universe conceit with harder rules than either Industrious or Winning Peace. The rules will be explained more clearly in the story itself, but this adaptation will heavily focus on magic rather than technology. Or, at least, magi-technology.

Hansolite

This looks super cool. Really interested in the alternate history aspect and how he’ll adapt and change history.

Son-Of-Scorn

Yes yes YES!!! I love a good DxD story, especially when they don’t just follow the cannon blindly, originally I was expecting a Potterverse story but this is much better.

Rockinalice

This is interesting

Helios

Ooh. I like this a lot. Would love more. A lot more. Unfortunately, it has the disadvantage of being a new story when Winning Peace and (maybe less so) Industrious are at such high points.

Quick question. Did world war 1 and world war 2 happen in DxD or at least in your DxD? Because the USA is the weakest country magically speaking (ironically) so dropping an atomic bomb on Japan is a fast way to get Amaterasu to drop a sun on you. Given the state of the USA’s magic side as of canon (which would be more advanced than now) starting shit like that is a good way to get fucked hard by some Yokai. Plus with where the vampire clans are a war that large would just feed them. Not to mention the Norse and Greek are a thing, so the church’s expansion into Northern Europe would not be as much as in our world. Specially since the Great War would have happened a super long time ago by the time the world wars come around. The colonisation of Egypt and Iraq would also be a hard thing. Same for certain parts of Africa. With the Chinese I can see thing still playing out similar to our world in some areas since I doubt the heavily court gets involved in the affairs of mortals. Then you have India, which is one of the strongest when it comes to myth. And with one of the most diverse personalities when it comes to myth. So a hostile takeover by the British does not seem to be in the cards. Which means a great deal of the supernatural humans who chaffed under the pantheons of Europe would have moved to the USA and Canada as it’s much less defended than most other places. No centralised faith, and many competing tribes.

This is a surprise, but an interesting one. I'm always hungry for melee Inspired Inventor stories.

Skrubstar

Well, this was lovely. I’d be interested to se this continue, as I do enjoy delving into the workings of Magic. Of course, I understand if you don’t want to take the detour from your usual works, but it was an enjoyable detour nonetheless.

Mr Mouse

Yeah, no, that was rad, would be delighted if the muse stuck with you on this one; Tho' more of your existing catalogue is hardly a poor consolation

godUsoland

Well., this is different. But interesting! Inspired Inventor truly is an incredible power

I'm actually really hyped for this story, it makes me think of Tanya's time at the Orphanage. With the factions of the big three Heaven is still the better faction to be aligned with as Rias and Sona who are more palatable groups to Join won't be born for a while. The magic system is interesting for a while I thought it was going to be amestris alchemy. I wonder if when he hits the limit break if he will gain knowledge from other settings. Like adding " Normandy Armor Upgrade: Silaris Armor codex "to structures he will eventually build, or replicate nasuverse gemcraft just to name a few subject. New England, actually. The first chapter is set in a town called Hudson, New York. The bulk of the first 2-3 arcs (presuming I get that far), will take place in Dartmouth College, New Hampshire. As far as the Inspired Inventor ability, it's an in-universe Sacred Gear. And Sacred Gears need to be developed and mastered as the user grows. So, expect that should there be more chapters.

Guilherme Bezerra

This is certainly different. DxD fanfics are not that rare but one in the past in Britain of all places is very much a different take. It is the tag that I am finding weird? I assume the specialization is the Inspired Inventor? But somehow it only has one charge ? At least it would explain the situation if the MC has to slowly get better.

Adam Daw

Oh cool!

Slayer Anderson

Half-Breed really refers to Henry being part-black rather than having non-human heritage. Marteen would have to test for that and hasn’t had the chance to yet. Henry could, though.

Max Horrichs

ok, this was very interesting, looking forward to reading more :)

Steve Jullian Perez

A "half-breed" then? Considering the instructions against attending mass. Or "unknown pure-blood"? Forgot which one has headaches when listening to prayers.
