It did not hit me until later. The blows to the Korean hunters were fatal. The reason they did not die is that the healer had time to partially heal them before his death. They were healed so the wounds were not immediately fatal.

God damn that felt like an hour long episode, and in the best way possible, holy SHIT. Japan screwing over the Koreans AGAIN, the level of hate from the author is sadly not unreal.

Just a quick reminder: Last episode, during the helicopter ride, they told us that the camera man's footage is being broadcast with a 10 minute delay. (Seen enough reactions to Solo Leveling ro remember that detail.) This suggests that Jinwoo either does not know what his shadows are able to see, or that the shadows are not smart enough to determine what information to give to him, otherwise he probably would've shown up at the first sign of trouble. Stands to reason that he just didn't know things were going wrong because the TV footage wasn't caught up with actual events yet. (We even saw that the hunters were able to kinda regroup and fight back for a moment against the horde of ants, which would also take a couple minutes in all likelihood.)

The one thing that was missing that I think would’ve made this scene much better is the people’s reaction. The despair of knowing their greatest protectors can’t save them after a brief stint of happiness and success, only to cut to SJW’s sister watching TV and SJW deciding to leave in his living room with her and his mom. Too bad they cut it from both the anime and manhwa 😕
