i actually have so many thoughts about the rise of the mustache bc i NEVER liked mustaches but starting like 1-2 years ago things have changed and maybe that’s my frontal lobe developing but i do genuinely think it’s either a reflection of or reaction to how shit everything is rn and rise of conservatism, depending on the person. i guess it’s also the trend cycle looping back but instead of 2010 preppy hipster it’s a bit more pornstache-adjacent this time around. tho i do think there is definitely a silly goofy artsy golden retriever man (aka whatever we’re calling the modern day hipster) element to it.
