If you both like Joe Wilkinson on this show you'll LOVE him in AFTERLIFE, it'll be perfect for you two, it's about a man that wants to kill himself because his wife died of cancer, I'd imagine it's how mike would be if (god forbid) Jess passed away, the love he shows towards Jess I think Mike would be a broken man, afterlife is hilarious and totally heartbreaking at times

I don’t think it’s necessarily that the poem itself is incredibly funny, but it’s just so against the format of what they were doing, it’s almost funny because it’s not funny.

Johnny Vegas’ poem on another episode is amazing. John Cooper Clarke who is judging the poems is a punk poet and an absolute legend. The Arctic Monkeys are big fans, their “I Wanna Be Yours” is an adaptation of one of JCC’s poems. There’s some compilations of Joe’s bits on 8OO10CDC, I’ll add them to the playlist if they’re not on there already.
