Ahhhh I am finally back to the Patreon after a few weeks of not having a membership (for no reason in particular) but I am so happy to be back, I always adore the vibes here. I already love one piece enough on my own, but every time I reexperience it with you guys it brings me so much joy! Your guys' reactions fit me perfectly because its literally always how I reacted the first time I watched these loll I am currently almost caught up after a few years of watching and I am just super emotional with this show overall, hitting ep 1000 a few weeks ago really has put me in my feels because this is literally my favorite show of all time and one I hold very close to my heart lmaooo anyways amazing reactions as always!

Exactly! We all watched the anime with the opening, it didn't stop us from enjoying the show and it certainly didn't reveal much of anything unless you sit there nitpicking everything in the opening. If I had to watch one piece through without watching the openings, my experience of it would absolutely have been diminished. I don't think it does them a service at all

Bullshit. We all watched the show like that and that's the way how it's intended by the authors. And if you don't stop and skip through frames it just shows some characters, but you still don't know the story.

I genuinely hate that they tell you not to watch the openings. It's such a part of the anime experience when a new opening shows up. I hate that advice so much

That first opening: Absolutely hopping and bopping, such a great fun time, a classic One Piece adventure The plot at the time: The crew is desperately trying to save their friend from self sacrificing eternal damnation, declaring war on the world government, suffering a Buster call, all while losing the Merry. Imagine that's the opening and then 10 seconds later they're burning the Merry, the whiplash lmao

Mayumi Tanaka (the voice of Luffy) has a serious set of pipes on her. The Japanese VA industry has a lot of crossover with their idol industry, so it's not uncommon for seiyuu to be cross-trained as singers. If you ever get around to watching Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid someday (highly recommend!), the principal voice cast effectively formed their own band for a bit.

there is another water 7 opening called “crazy rainbow” btw it wasn’t included on crunchyroll sub for some reason but it’s on the dub version u can watch it in the beginning of ep 304 (checked a random episode in water 7 arc and saw that its played there ) if u want to check it out just change to dub

The "We Are" cover by the Strawhats is my favorite OP. They also singed the whole song, and the VAs for Usopp, Sanji and Zoro all got an entire verse by themselves in the second half of the song.

I'm terrible for skipping intros once I've seen them. I never to this day clicked that was the One Piece cast singing, as I figured I had heard it before. That was brilliant. Thank you.
