Yup, and my head cannon is because HE WAS the cry baby of his brothers ... and he "outgrow" out of it ... so he knows anyone can become "strong" (in character) and stop being one. Also this is consistent with Luffy character all the way back from episode 1 in the Anime, he tells the same to Coby that he doesn't like him at first because he's was a coward 😂

The quickest way to Luffy's heart is by feeding him so despite him not 'liking' Shirahoshi, he feels indebted to her and wants to repay her by taking her on a walk aka adventure.

I think Luffy hates crybabies is because when Ace and Luffy were small Ace said he hated crybabies when he was crying.
