When I broke my ankle, I was surprised at the bruising between my toes. The weirdest one was the one that ran from my instep up my shin to the bottom of my kneecap, on the other time I broke my ankle. They thought it was also a break on my shin, as my ankle was so swollen it bulged the base of my shin. Yes, during my time in the Marine Corps, I broke my ankles repeatedly. I thought they were just sprains, until they x-rayed them for my separation physical and the bone chips around my ankles looked like confetti. 😳 The doc kept looking from the x-rays, to my ankles, to my face, over and over until I just shrugged. He looked like he wanted to smack me upside the head.
