The LN isn't that different from either the manga or the anime. I honestly would say you can read the manga till you reach the most recent chapter and then just switch to the light novel that manga chapter ended in. Anime and especially the manga follow the source material really close. When I saw the first 2 episodes I immediately started the manga till I reached the most recent chapter (then). And at that time I could have started with LN4 no problem but I did buy the all 9 available LN at the time. And I started with LN1 chapter 1 but it honestly isn't worth to read the first 3 light novels if you already read the manga. There is so little different or missing that it is close to 0%.
