🕑 Added 2023-05-06 21:00:01 +0000 UTCedit: i got some emotionally charged comments on this in relation to the term "futanari". it is a japanese term meant to describe female presenting bodies that happen to have both genitals, which this specific oc does have. it is not meant to be derogatory to trans females in real life & is just a descriptor for a specific preference in fiction.
i would prefer that we dont insult each other here regardless and simply assume that no one is trying to offend when we use another culture's term for something.

As a non-binary trans girl who was born with intersex hormones, futanari is a category I particularly enjoy. I really like this pic. I hope surgery for that particular option becomes easier over time.

As a trans girl, I personally don't think that Futanari (which literally translates to "Dual Form") is derogatory towards trans people, if used correctly. Especially since, as you said, a so called "futa" is a person who has both genitals. Which the average trans person doesn't have. But I can see why intersex people might dislike this term. But I personally see the word "Futa" just as a kink thing. As long as you only use it in a sexual context (like hete) I personally think it's fine. It only gets creepy when you go around calling real life trans girls futa lol

using an alternative to the word "futanari" is not racist, nor is it whitewashing or anything. the term in and of itself has offensive origins, and is only ever used in porn. this would be the equivalent of asking people to use a word like "negro" or "shemale", the former for its historical use and the latter for its continued use in pornography. you can just say "intersex female", it's not that hard. trans or intersex people aren't a sex object made for porn.

Everything is offensive nowadays, but the thing you are asking is literally to take a term that's of a different culture you don't like and whitewash it, or Americanize it, or whatever that terminology is at this point (I've heard it too many ways). And not only does Intersex broadly define the idea, the term Futanari specifically is a female body with both genitalia on the body. One could even say Futanari are a subcategory of Intersex at that point if you will. You can use any word incorrectly and mean offense to someone with it of course, but that does not make the use of the word bad

I’m trans and I think a lot of the patrons here are. I just don’t want the arguing in the comments to mean we won’t receive more content of bodies that aren’t cis. I really really appreciated this art and enjoyed it! I’m not sure how to help, but I really hope these comments don’t end up hurting our chances at seeing more art like this

i get you mean no offense, but i would still recommend not using the word "futanari" even in its origin it still has roots in transphobia and more prominently seeing intersex people as a sexual object, if you want an oc to have both you can just use the word "intersex" since it doesn't have any offensive connotations behind it
