Thinking that the only phones on the market are Samsung or Apple is most definitely a very American perspective. Elsewhere around the world, Apple and OSx based platforms don't have nearly the market monopoly as they do in the US and there are at least a dozen larger Android phone manufacturers out there thriving. Many just don't deal with or sell to US consumers for various reasons around the US and external trade/technology restrictions with certain countries, or if they do, then they do so through small US registered companies going by other names dealing in limited volume, which is what has helped Apple thrive in the US as the majority no competition leader there.
