Poor Marsha had a very hard time growing up. She had to toughen up for so many reasons. And yet, her love for home, Oddwind, never wavered.

This scene highlights what really endeared me to Steban when I first started following your work, and that is his genuine and caring nature! π We've seen that from time to time in his interactions with Martin, or even way back in Up and Ahead when he made his final statment to Roukan. I've said this before, but that moment was when I knew that I was really going to love Steban as a character! The plot may have changed, but Steban is still the same lovable doggo! π₯° This also gives me a sense of what made Steban and Marsha's friendship so special. He was different for being someone who was actually kind and supportive to her, and someone who eased the pain of her difficult puppyhood. He was that one person she could lean on. And she looked up to him and saw him as someone who was going to help the town and make Oddwind's problems go away. She had high hopes for him. I get a sense of how this made her disappointment and the rift between them later on all the more painful for her π So the feeling of betrayal and hurt that she felt after he left Oddwind is one that cuts deep... It's so interesting how the past art you posted for No Northvember so long ago, relating to what we're seeing in the comic now was almost like a subtle hint of things to come! Also, I like that soft glow of light coming from the right side of the panel, where Steban is. It's symbolic of the light of goodness coming into Marsha's otherwise bleak and pained life to give her some relief. I can see already that this was such a strong relationship they had, which makes me hope that much more that they'll restore what was lost! I just love how deep the characters in this story are, and I can't wait for the next couple of pages, I just know I'm going to love them so much! π Have a great weekend Skailla!

Marsha deserves better π₯Ί. This just makes me want her and Steban to reconcile more, but itβs super great to see these flashbacks giving some more context to the characters and the bleak situation. Great page Skailla π!

Looks familiar indeed. One of those moments where I kinda understand the jerks... Some kids deal with trauma in different ways and it is easy to lash out... poor Marsha really needs a friend and someone she can turn to... Nice to see how her views of Steban start and how it evolves.
