A Very Important Question
🕑 Added 2018-06-25 15:35:10 +0000 UTC Hello lovely Patrons! I've come away from VidCon utterly INSPIRED and I want to take the channel to the next level. First though, I wanted to ask you -What would you think about me making videos every OTHER week, rather than weekly?
Everyone says it's silly if I want to grow the channel, but I'm more concerned with making videos that are actually good and growing it that way than by gaming the algorithm. I feel like right now I'm often rushed to get something out every week, whereas if I had a bit more time I could actually put in more work per video, making them better. More of a ContraPoints, Lindsay Ellis vibe.
Obviously my big concern is that people would stop pledging: I've been terrified to experiment with the channel because Patreon is functionally my only income at the moment, so it's scary to even consider tweaking it in case it all comes tumbling down and I'm suddenly out of a job! So would you change your pledge if I made fewer videos of better quality? Would you up it, lower it, leave it where it is, take it away?
I've a few more ideas and over the coming months I'll be letting you know about them! Please let me know your thoughts!

No problem for me, I don't always have the time to watch the videos on the week it is released. Since it is your actual job wouldn't it be normal to have a couple of weeks holidays now and then? This you tube thing should not become modern slavery. Anyway thanks for the good job you're doing teaching philosophy to this crazy world.

I started pledging a few days ago, and thought you were putting them out fortnightly anyway, so mine wouldn't change (although it's pretty small and so probably doesn't make much difference to you).
I'm all for quality over quantity, every other week is cool for me.
I’d leave my pledge as is either way. Do it your way Ollie. Having said that, perhaps you can do a video that requires intense production every two weeks, and something more easy-going for the weeks in between.

Yes..take a week or even 2 ...this way you can recharge and make better content. Work Life Balance is key. Noone can continually make good content week after week. We've all gotten spoiled. Relax Dream Enlighten us all.
Honestly I would pledge more, I'm just waiting until I get a raise or a better paying job ;)
