The key on the spool is for metal gate you start near while in the dungeon, open it and grab the flag and head to the blue door. Press E to open it :D

There's a video on my twitter feed, but press shift, jump and forward to make it to the second platform. Third platform just jump and forward. Next, hold shift and press forward (don't jump) to make it to the fourth platform, then shift and jump to make it to the spool+key
