The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 12/Nov/2021
🕑 Added 2021-11-12 14:25:45 +0000 UTCHad some nervous fun this week! It started off with me losing my back-up SD card for Wayhaven. And with my laptop starting to get a little funny lately, every day without backing up was making me more and more anxious!!
By Thursday I was a bit frantic trying to find it, but we did find it (in a super obvious place, of course...)!
But amongst that, I finished Chapter 9! It took longer than I planned because I changed one of the endings. I really just can't be doing without a good romantic moment with the LIs in each chapter now, lol! :D
Though saying that, I really love the other ending too! Not just because it might bring in one of my fave side characters again (be still my beating heart), but because you're away from UB again, it's more about the focus on how the MC is going to handle dealing with these other characters without that instant back up from Unit Bravo.
So it has been interesting being like, 'Well, I always love spending time with the LI, but…I really want to see how my MC does in this other scenario!'. I definitely know it's strong when I can't decide between one or the other! I really like the very distinct feel between the two endings, and I can't wait for you guys to try it! So it was worth spending the time to rewrite that.
Next week will be editing, but I also will definitely be getting some writing in on Chapter 10 too. I'm seriously excited because the version of Chapter 10 you get is the first one where it's decided by who which members of UB decide to side with when it comes to choosing a plan. Unless your MC decides that A's idea is actually the best to start with, or maybe you'll agree just for team unity in such a stressful moment, or some other reason!
It's gonna be interesting to see who backs who in this moment...and you'll certainly get a sense of the shift in UB with this new power dynamic—who, of course, doesn't have to follow the chain of command already established in this team!

Bobby rolls his/her lips together before curling them into what I suppose he/she thinks is a seductive smile. "Hello there, Detective."
(If dislike or find Bobby annoying)
I twist away from him/her with a roll of my eyes. "Oh, wonderful. It just had to be you."
(If Bobby told LI about the kiss and dislikes Bobby)
"Oh dear," he/she coos. "You're not still sore about me telling your new friend about our kiss, are you?"
"What are you even doing here?" I growl.
(If Bobby didn't tell LI about the kiss and ex-lover or ex-friend and dislikes Bobby)
"You're always so sullen these days, angel/handsome," he/she coos. "You used to be all smiles when seeing me once."
"I used to be happy to see you then," I quip. "What are you even doing here?"

Just a couple of variations, obviously there are ones to account for other types of relationship with Bobby too! Writing the ones for those MC's who don't have much feeling towards Bobby or just see them as a reporter is always interesting, hehe! :D

You have to be on the Bobby branch which is determined in Book 1. You have to choose to stay in instead of going out when Tina asks you!

You mean when Bobby and MC may kiss? That's in book 2, if you're on Bobby's branch and if you invite him in the apartment after the carnival - well and if you go for it because even then it's possible to pull away. Love all these variations!! Not me doing various playthroughs for each of my detectives just to see the most variations possible... I kinda have FOMO thinking of how many differences there are I couldn't get yet😳

Chapter 10 is definitely going to make for an interesting moment! The reason you stated for your MC is actually why I left it until now. I figured most MCs will know how they feel about taking more command or not with UB by now!

Oh my goodness, I can only imagine how you must have been climbing the walls over your lost back-up SD card. I’m relieved you were able to find it in the end though. Please, feel free to put all the romantic moments in. I don’t think anyone would object to that. <3 Goodness though, the start of Chapter 10 sounds like it’s going to be fun. Typically, my MC’s a ‘go with the flow’ kind of person and doesn’t like rocking the boat, but now that she’s known UB for some months, she’s becoming more comfortable expressing her own thoughts and opinions, so it will definitely be interesting to see if her views align with A’s plan or go in a different direction and how the others respond to that.
