The Lockdown Delivery Mission (No roads challenge) PART 2
🕑 Added 2020-05-01 20:01:00 +0000 UTCIt's back down the alleys as I advance with some trepidation in the direction of my Nans house. With plenty more monster fences to climb and plenty of people to watch out for in this final section, it would ultimately be the arteries of the industrial revolution, the canal and railway track, that would cause me the most grief.
But can I persevere and deliver what's left of my Nan's shopping list to her door step? and in the 3 hour time-frame? Watch and find out.
Thank you to everyone who signed up to watch this series. Not only are you helping me and Verity survive the year, but you're ensuring that I make more content like this for some time to come. I hope you enjoyed this little adventure. Thanks again.
WHAT'S TO COME ON PATREON?: over the next couple of months I will be posting a series filmed in 2015, starring me as an annoying modern university student. This will be available to the $1 tier, along with some unused scenes from the lockdown mission.
For the $6 tier, more attempts at a 5 minute mile, and more videos, photos, stories and chats with myself.

Hi Tom. New subscriber, Old man of Aldridge. Love what you do. So many familiar places from so many different angles. Richmond Hall was where my Dad spent his last days.

"You survived a world woar, you're not fussy are ya?" "I am actually" Oh man, had a good laugh at that one.

Hey I played Max Payne. XD
Jack Harkcom
Your hat fell of near the railroad tracks :)
Daniel C
Man this is amazing did not expect the content to be this good.
George
Amazing stuff once again! I think it's safe to say that you just do have the best youtube personality...bloody hilarious mate
Harrison Webbe
Hi tom! I loved the video! How far did you travel in the entire mission?
Michal Hazucha
Following the brook to its source, this is important part of my childhood. Just follow the brook in any case, through all those little waterfalls and canyons. Thanks. Your missions need trashout app.
Sebastian
Quality content as usual! Did you find out, how you lost your hat? Did you try finding it? I didn't notice at first and went back in the video to check. Seems like it ended up feeding the Aldridge Swamp Monsters.
Domain of Science
Yeah I agree totally, I know exactly what you mean.
Tony Robinson
Hi Tom - this may be my favorite miniseries of yours to date! There is an almost intangible quality to your real life missions that takes me back to my childhood - the sense of play, adventure, curiosity, spontaneity... I can't put my finger on it, but it is truly something special. Keep it up, brother!

Next patron mission: bareback horse ride ft. Greg

Flippin heck, it's like every fence is made to impale lol. Love these man!
Jenn Galt

tom davies
That is one of the main issues!
tom davies
Hey man you're welcome. Great to hear that they're appreciated though because it's something I also feel strongly about. Don't mention it! and thanks so much for supporting! till next time man
tom davies
I did! went back 2 days later in the car and did another shop. Went back for that vile bag too :)
tom davies
Cheers mate :)
tom davies
Lovely message Matt. Stoked that I can entertain you and give you waves of midlands nostalgia simultaneously :) Cheers for supporting me!
tom davies
Thanks Ben! Thanks for supporting me it means a lot! :)
tom davies
Ah cheers Steve, hope you enjoyed!
tom davies
It wasn't pleasant Ross. That brook is nasty.
tom davies
You're welcome Emil! Thank you for helping me do them! Till next time
tom davies
Cheers Juliana! :)
tom davies
Wish I'd have said "Social distancing ay it kid!"
tom davies
delightful isn't it. It's never quite the same as when you're a kid, but still great to be able to revisit old memories.
tom davies
haha cheers to that Dave! I finally got me some decent leather army ones. Only thing is it's difficult to hit that record button..
tom davies
I don't notice I'm doing that, I guess I try to soften my accent whilst i'm presenting because the walsall (yam yam) accent isn't the nicest on the ear.. but when talking to locals it comes back out haha
tom davies
Haha I think YouTube would definitely have taken that one down..
tom davies
Thanks dude glad you're liking the adventures!!
tom davies
You're welcome Jeremie I think they're really important even for English speakers as some parts are quiet. Yeah I have done that many moons ago, maybe I could get from one to the other in the shortest distance or time possible :P
tom davies
Thanks Ben, yeah I guess the smaller the village the less there is to discover, so much more than you would think to be explored in the shadows of urban areas.. got to climb a few fences though. Thanks again mate, you're a star!
tom davies
Fuck, that's enough to make a kid stay indoors forever!
Brandon
It turns out Tom never wears gloves because he cant press the record button properly with them on. 15:55

Tom, I want to thank you again for your continued efforts to provide good subtitles for these videos. I have hearing problems and because of all the wind noise and muffled sounds, these videos would be completely incomprehensible to me without the subs. It means a lot to me that your content is accessible.
Marcin
Great video. Did you end up getting your Nan that Steradent and heat treated milk?
TwX EdgE
Brilliant

Well worth popping my Patreon cherry for! Being from Burton and spending a lot of time in Tamworth growing up, you and this mission especially embody everything that is great about the midlands and its people. I live in Cumbria now but you really remind me of home and I love that!
Benjamin
I love watching you Tom! Great Work!
Oliver Adkins
Good job man! I was looking forward to this all week
Ross Gall
I can only imagine the smell at the end of that
Emil Skjoedt
Thanks for another great mission during these hard times. Looking forward to more videos! Greetings from Denmark, stay safe!
Juliana
Absolutely smashed it man!
Luke Cruse
GeoWizard "Alright Lads?" The Lads "What you doin?!" GeoWizard "Haha I dunno!" Pissing myself hahaha
This is brilliant! I can relate to what you were saying about the brook, moved back to my home town last year and started walking around all the places I used to dream of exploring as a kid. Great video!
david oldham
When I saw you crawling through those brambles, wearing gloves! I honestly gave it a cheer.
sgac
The most interesting thing was the way your accent got stronger when you were talking to the people at the canal.
Thomas Magor
Ummmn... where's the footage of you being hosed down?!?! I WANT A REFUND.
Mindez
Great mission, hope there's many more to come (after we can get out of lockdown, of course)! I'm loving this new adventure focus to the channel!
jeremie
Hey, really nice video! Again thank you for the subtitles. If you don’t know it, you might enjoy geocaching (it’s an app and a “concept” really cool), I would love to see you doing your local geocaching missions!
Ben Tydeman
Great 2nd part to the lockdown delivery diaries! Was nice to hear your nostalgic stories of the areas around your nans. Just makes me want to find the hidden treasures around where I am, unfortunately most have been found in the village! Thanks again for the entertainment Tom, supporting you on patreon never required a second thought.
tom davies
Haha I know, I don’t think she had the heart to tell me I’d failed after all of been through. I did another shop for her a few days later and drove it round. Much easier..
tom davies
Hahaha please don’t attempt that in my name. I’m sure she’ll cope! Thanks mate, and thanks for supporting me. Take care.
tom davies
Ahhh man you’re a genius. What a missed opportunity.
tom davies
Thanks mate! I decided against that thing as it’s really hard to climb onto and carries live electricity wires. Probably wouldn’t kill you but I think the people would have frowned on that a lot more for attempting that. Sounds like some great exploration keep it up! Same to you my friend thanks again for your support!
tom davies
Thanks so much Finn! You won’t be disappointed with what I have lined up!
tom davies
It was a very childish mission really wasn’t it. And I was in my element 😂 ..thanks mate, I’m sure he did! Cheers for your support.
tom davies
Mate that’s a wonderful analogy. Not to mention the 16 bit music! Yes we went back for the bag, it was still there. Thanks again for the support man!!
tom davies
Thanks mate!! It gave me anxiety too..
tom davies
I know! Maybe it was a ruse to keep us out of there. A girl drowned in there years ago. You would think that would be a good enough reason!
tom davies
Thank you Mr Berg!!
tom davies
Thanks Brett glad you think so!
tom davies
Thanks Daniel! Thanks for supporting!
tom davies
Good choice Elliot! 🙃
Jordan Brodie
Well done mate! Good on your nan for dubbing it a mission accomplished with near half of her supplies compromised, sweet lady!
Mountainjam05
Great job man. This makes me want to mission across the Atlantic to my Granma's in Belgium. She needs some rum and duck liver Patte. Love the channel mate!
Mountainjam05
Great job man! Now I want to mission across the Atlantic to see my Grandma in Belgium to bring her some rum and duck liver pate. Love your channel. Stay Safe!
Jack Mackay-Neal
13:44, you missed an opportunity to remove your hat from your face on the map
Lucas Chamberlain
Hahaha loved how you just went for it and waded across the canal despite having a live audience! But couldn't you have just used that brick bridge thing in the background? I can relate to your discovery of the brook. I've spent a bit of time exploring urban creeks around my place here in Hobart (Australia), and it's always extremely interesting seeing what they're like. A great couple of videos! Hope you're staying safe in these uncertain times.
Josette Reynolds
I remember being told about Weil's disease as a kid. My biggest childhood fears were Weil's disease and quick sand
Finn Goo
Thank you very much Tom, what an awesome mission. I will keep supporting you!
Rob Crowther
Cheers Tom. That mission reminded me of being a kid and mucking about in places you're not meant to. I hope your Grandad enjoyed his beer!
EJL
This is totally like an adventure video game! First-person camera (mostly), a noble mission for the protagonist, there is only one true path to follow (not an open world), and Princess Nan at the end thanking you! But, more importantly, did you ever go back and get the bag you left behind in Part 1 with the milk/sterident in it?? Anyway thank you for this amazing adventure, totally worth the wait!!!
Vitalis Spiridis
Loved the mission Tom!! You walking through infested water after piercing yourself with brambles gave me anxiety tho 😅
Tor Ria
Honestly thought your Nan would be mad cause you went in the brook that'd give you Weil's!
Jerry Berg
you've done it again. thanks for keeping us entertained during this lockdown.
Brett Foster
Really enjoyed that! quality content for only $1!
cheers tom, good entertainment for an otherwise boring lock-down evening :)
Elliot Smith
“Beat the Chasers” or this. The former can wait 😉😉
