Regarding the future of the project. (READ!)
🕑 Added 2024-09-16 22:10:14 +0000 UTCFirst of all, a little rundown for those who still don't know what happened yet:
- NoTextToSpeech, a youtuber made a video about the Discord server, full of lies.
- The server got raided by his audience, mostly teenagers and kids.
- The server was SFW, but it still got banned by the sheer pressure of being a 'public case'.
- All users in the discord got a 24h mute and an horrible badge on their profiles with something like "you have been in a server dangerous to children" or some crap like that (private).
- Now what everyone is here for:
I got many suggerences: making a new server, making a server somewhere else like Matrix or whatever, making a Telegram channel, making my own website, etc...
But I will tell you guys something... I'm really tired.
I feel TIRED, its like finally losing a 2 year long battle.
I feel SAD, All my effort to gatekeep the game from bad actors and minors, was in vain at the end.
I feel DEPRESSED, I see myself very close to just throw away everything and start from scratch.
I feel STUPID, Because not too long ago I was already thinking on making the server private and only leave those who already were inside.
I feel really ANGRY, When someone's rent is due, they can just destroy a random server over nothing in just 5 minutes. But in the same 5 minutes, a lot of my effort went to waste, its not fair.
and I feel GUILTY for people's discord accounts too, and for supporters.
I love making this game, so I will continue working on it, but I dont want to make or manage a new server or any other place for the community.
Yeah, the server was a lot of fun, very chill place for everyone, no politics (most of the time haha), cool fan art, update and stream notifications... we made a lot of friends.
These last 72 hours were my hardest in years, I don't want to experience it again in any form.
One can just endure certain amount of death threats and insults over nothing in such a small amount of time without giving up.
MAYBE in the future there may be a private server for supporters + some friends. But not right now. -
- What about the game and supporters?
Free version: I will make the itchio public again eventually, don't know when. But I will upload it to other sites.
Supporters version: the links for the Android, PC/Linux and Mac versions will be in a Pastebin or similar, and shared to supporters here.
Supporter requests and Fanbox tiers: I will finish all due supporter requests, but I won't continue doing them next month, I will change the Fanbox tier's descriptions. Make sure to read them before continuing supporting me next month! I will send some newsletters to current supporters regularly during this month to make sure everyone reads it, and nobody gets "robbed" next month. This may be my job and my money, but first, is YOUR money, and that's something that has to be respected no matter what.
- Other minor details/changes:
- This means more free time, so I will end up working more on the game, and hopefuly, drawing other stuff too for everyone.
- Work in progress images of the games will be posted here on Fanbox on private posts for tier 2+ supporters. (SFW)
- The "DMF's Mega Folder" will get a new backup and linked later, but not here, that goes against Fanbox's TOS.
- I will continue streaming on Pomf like I usually do.

2024 - Oct - 06 UPDATE:
I'm now on UniFans, it has a lot of pros over not just Fanbox, but many other platforms too:
There are other "cool things" like having a mobile app, and having an ACTUAL text editor and not whatever Fanbox has and such but I guess I didn't cared to add it to the list.
The site is still young, and will slowly get more functionalities, and hopefuly more payment methods too for you to chose the option with the smallest fee.

It will be just "grunt voice acting", it means, generic lines that can be used on many parts of the game depending on the context. Of course, voices will have their own volume slider separated from Sounds and Music, so players can decide to turn it off if they want.

I did pay for the subscription this month but didn't know what was going on until late and hope I can get added to any private things so I can keep updated. From what I can tell we’re good. It seems like your account standing and violations are private to everyone but you. I think you get the public warning on your account if you are an actual proven sexual predator or posted real illegal shit, not just for being on a server that got banned so we’re good.

Either limited accounts cant see it or they removed this feature, i vaguely remember seeing last year someone with a warning in their description that informed they violated child safety rules in the past, but since then i never saw it again.

I also found this upsetting, ethical public audience is difficult but the absolutism leading to these quick decisions is wide open to rebuttal. I mean even without knowing you the idea that making this game makes you bad doesn't hold up at all considering it passed the vibe check with so many people, the fact that was accomplished should pass for inhuman virtue more like ffs. That other places are undoubtably more dangerous then this one was, it is plain as day the monster here yea. What an awful thing to happen. Don't give up. As many people that are just blindly follow along without thinking to bash and rage, to be part of the herd...there are just as many people that apreciate what you do. They know it's pretend, drawn, fictional. They can distinguish between fiction and reality. As grim a reminder this is, there was a school shooter (in the US, who could have guessed) where the kid was given a rifle by his father. The grandfather of the boy was quick to split the blame between his son-in-law (yes, cause he raised the boy and gave him a weapon designed to kill MANY people) and video games. Studies have proven several times that violent video games do not make people violent in real life. People are capable of distinguishing between the two. It trigers very different responses in people. And just like that, a video game with cartoon characters is received by a human very differently than a real situation. To compare the two is ignorance of the fighest degree.

Yes, I'm fully aware that the interaction with fans WILL go down. Its an horrible "side effect" of making things more secure and bozo-proof. That's why I don't ignore the possibility of having a new server on whichever platform. Let's give it some time. Not everything is lost.

Settings -> Privacy & Safety -> Standings. You'd also get an email about it. I don't think he means a literal badge, but you DO get a violation for two years.

Damn. Fair. Not even mad about this decision. Just know that sites like Fanbox here and Substar barely have anyone comment and message ya. I know artist that want interaction with their work and that's way they even have a discord to begin with. This is probably the best decision, but the interaction with the fans WILL go down. Whatever you do, though, we're here for ya. I recommend everyone to simply switch over to F95 for a forum type of interaction about the game. I will be doing that going forward.

Do what you got to do. I will still support you. It does suck with what happend. I did not know about the label they put on us. A bit odd they can do that with out evidence. I'll pay more attention to my emails to keep up with this and streams. But take care of your self. How can you tell that you have been labeled? Im on mobile and had no indication that I've been labeled.

Even if all I get for supporting you (which I am fairly new at) is 2.5 chapters of an amazing game, and a life lesson about having a separate Discord account for NSFW stuff, then it’s been worth it.
