The greatest military the world has ever seen belonged to the Roman Empire. The US military has bumble fucked its way through every war or conflict its been a part of. I mean, every time there's a revolution or a civil war or a WWII, people rise to the occasion. But at its core, the modern-day US military is still the poorly led, corrupted, understaffed, and ineffective fighting force that couldn't win the Indian Wars of the late nineteenth century without subcontracting the dirty work to "friendly" tribes. Yes, there's plenty of firepower and top knotch weapon systems, and plenty of super badass too cool for school extra uber special forces, but somehow we can't win any of the crappy "small" wars we constantly get embroiled in.
